Hi there, I am new to this satellite world and new to this forum!

I just bought a TM 3100D yesterday. It does not have any patch. Can anyone help ? What should I do. My children want to watch kids channels but in the FTA only 3-4 channels for kids. My dish points at Astra 2 satellite. Please guide me how to do and what to do. Thankx..

You cannot open anything on that sat only fta channels.

Hi fearona. Thanks for your reply. What should I do then ? I managed to insert a few sat eem.. but I can't remember which one. Can I open other channels with other satellites ? If yes which one ? I live in a flat that have two centrallised dish. Thanks.

If in UK (80cm dish req)1w is open. Plenty on there. Some Polsat channels left on 13e but not much

I live in the UK. So you mean that if the dish is alrealy pointing to Astra 2, I can't do much. I can only watch channels on FTA. Unless I change the position/direction of the dish. But I using a centrelised dish, so I can't change it .Even though I put a patch? What is the sat name for this (If in UK (80cm dish req)1w is open) ? Thanks for your reply.

either you have to motorise the dish or you are stuck on 28.2e Digi tv on 1w thor

The list below shows all the free-to-air and free-to-view satellite channels available on Astra 2 at 28.2 degrees East. These channels are collectively known as Sky Freesat channels, because they can be received free of charge once you have the right equipment. A more limited channel range is available from the new Freesat service promoted by the BBC & ITV consortium - more details will be available shortly.

Free-to-air channels are not encrypted and you therefore do not need a card of any kind to receive them, just a free-to-air receiver or Sky receiver (Sky Digibox).

Free-to-view channels are encrypted, but are free to receive (ie you do not need to pay a monthly subscription to receive them). The only free-to-view channels at present are Channel 4, Channel Five, Five Life, Five US and Sky Three. To obtain these three channels alongside the free-to-air channels you need a 'free-to-view' or Freesat card. This card can only be used in a Sky Digibox and can be obtained for a one-off fee. All Freesat or free-to-view cards will last until the next major update of the Sky card system, expected to be in approximately two to three years time.

To obtain the Freesat channels, all you need is an up-to-date Sky Digibox, a free-to-view card and a suitably sized satellite dish for your location.

Ops fearona, another question. What does this patch do : Magicpatch-TM-3000_Series_10-11-2008_VER002.20 and 3000_Series_161008_217p which I found in the patching thread ?

If I can get signal for hotbird satellite, can I use the patch ? What channels are available on hotbird sat ? Can I view the scramble channel in this sat (after it is patched)?

You can use the patch on hotbird. You will get some polsat channels which are slowly migrating to Nagra 3 and a lot of non English channels.

hi everyone i have a tm1000ci, unpatched factory settings,i am wanting to get thor 1 deg w can i use a sky dish or will i have to use my 1m dish? also what patch will i need? do i need to put keys in after i patch? any help would be greatly appriciated i am in glasgow scotland btw.

You will need the 1 mtr dish. Latest patch and then softcam. Before loading softcam turn the auto updaye off in the mneu-options-digi tv off-exit save

any ideas about the patch is it the magic ? this si the best sat site by miles btw.

cheers guys this is very helpfull. i bought this technomate box from ebay for £20 . unfortunately i have not got a bean after christmas,but!!!! i am due a very healthy payout from the nhbc. woohoo , it was due mid dec but i knocked it back and it is being reconsidered/valued. i am going to put this box in my bed room and treat myself to a motorised system for the liv room when i get my dough.. thanks once again

it seems like an old patch
just bought the reciever to take to spain,
cant find any other patch, thanks guys
