Last week, there have been an important development for feed hunters.
GTMedia has just started taking pre-orders for last Android 9 device GT Combo.
According to GTMedia's board forum, it can support 4:2:2 video format via software.
Testers had observed freezing troubles, by the way improvement is still continuing. Without strong hardware; playing 4:2:2 must be so difficult.
I can't share discuss links because of Sat-Universe's rigid prohibition regime. You can search "GT Combo" on search engines. For your information.

Some info can be found on the freesat.cn site - search "Nuevo GT Combo" & "4:2:2 Biss Wild Feeds"
Seems they have found a workaround way to watch 4:2:2 feeds, when a 4:2:2 feed is scanned in, you can then switch to a built-in media player similar to VLC that plays the video to your TV.

1. Android 9.0 TV BOX + DVB-S/S2/S2X, DVB+T/T2/Cable/ATSC-C(J.83B)/ISDBT, AVS+HEVC main 10 profile (10bit)
2. Amlogic S905X3 2GBRAM + 16GBROM
3. 4K ultra-high definition display and decoder, Dual-core MIPS75Kf processors
4. Unicable, DiSEqC1.0/1.1/1.2/USALS Motor fully support
5. Full Auto PowerVu, DRE & Biss key
6. Built-in Wifi 2.4G/5G+BT4.1, 802.1.1b/g/n/ac
7. System is GT UI, GTStore Addons pre-installed Netflix,Youtube, Prime-Video, Online movies, etc
8. IPTV on GTPlayer
9. CCCAM, NEWCAM, MGCAM, and CA card decoding

Hardware:
CPU: Amlogic S905X3, Quad-Core ARM Cortex-A53, 18.400 DMIPS
GPU: ARM Mali-G31 MP2, 850MHz
RAM: 2G DDRIII
ROM: 16G EMMC

I have just noticed that I forgot an important act to must do.
I must thank Delirium from GTMedia support forum and MEGADISH from digital-forum.it for this information.

No news for new models about can play 4:2:2 still.
Linux models are already can play 4:2:2 with software.
Unfortunately, we do not have standalone model can play 4:2:2 except pro use.

"4;2;2"; Tried in Kodi on devices with s922x chipset.

Results;

* CPU usage is between 90 and 95%.

* The CPU temperature goes up to 100 percent, depending on the playing time.

* In the streaming video; problems such as skipping and freezing are observed.

If we talk about the GT Combo model; a satisfactory video should be shared on this device, showing that it works from within vlc.

There's no clear answer on freesat.cn if 4:2:2 video is freezing during playback on new GTmedia G4 device.
But that's easy to test. Anyone have android box with S905X3?
If someone has it then you just need to try to play 1080p 4:2:2 video in VLC player? If playback is smooth then it works.
For example X96max.
