Biss Control Words are static and are only changed by the Broadcasters when they need to. With this encryption there is no decoding process as such just the final Biss Control Word.

Constant Control Words are simply Control Words at the end of the decoding process that instead of changing every 10 seconds or so, stay Constant, but this is only temporary until whatever fault has caused this to happen is fixed, so can be constant for minutes, hours, days and sometimes longer.

In normal CW, CWs are often called DCW (Direct Control Word).

*simplified explanation.

Easily,
Biss is a system of encryption
like,
viaccess,irdeto,....
its key contains 16 of numbers and letters
(jumpled)
the keys take long time to change!
for Constant Control Word (CCW)
you know that the keys of channel
change every short time, like 30 seconds..
sometimes these keys take time to change like few hours,
many hours,day,two days,and rarely a week!
because of error of its decryption system!
so we take these keys and put in supported receivers
and they decrypt the scrambled channels!
CCW keys open any channel decrypted by irdeto,viccess,nagravision,etc..
but it contains 32 letters and numbers!
i hope my answer makes you get the message!
thanks!

BISS is an encryption system used by pay per view channels on satellite sometimes it is used for football matches and others thorough out the day.

Also got info from wikipedia here is an extract of the system:

'Basic Interoperable Scrambling System, usually known as BISS, is a satellite signal scrambling system developed by the European Broadcasting Union and a consortium of hardware manufacturers.

Prior to its development, "ad-hoc" or "Occasional Use" satellite news feeds were transmitted without any encryption. This allowed anyone with the correct equipment to view the program material. Using BISS the transmission is protected by a 12 digit "session key" that is agreed by the transmitting and receiving parties prior to transmission. The key is entered into both the encoder and decoder , this key then forms part of the encryption of the digital TV signal and only receivers with the correct key will decrypt the signal. The system, however, is insecure.'

Thank you guys for good explanation!
I understand now the diffrence.

But..
Mogembo quoted from wiki, that BISS is insecure.
So this is why BISS keys are public known?
But if it is true, it means that all feeds are insecure?
That is impossible(I think).

And one more thing:
If Control Word remains constant for some hours, and this is failure... why there are so many failures in encoders?
And why does it concern only some channels?

For example:
In my country today TVP1, TVP2, XXXtreme had constant control word for some minutes(20?). But I have never seen CCW for Discovery channels or NatGeo.

Sory for my bad English, I hope you will understand what I'm writing:)

look mate,
no channel is far from any error of its encryption system!
so no channel is far from long time CCW keys..
but before all, you should ask,
HOW THEY GET CCW KEYS?
from the answer you will be immediately satisfied!
you see here in this forum
CCW keys for xxxtreme,cyfra,zee,private spice,etc..
the keys of these channels are got out from SHARING.
because when you share channels with others, you see the CCW keys
of these channels,so you can notice in sometimes that the keys don't change.
so soon you take these keys and spread them through the sites on the net!
but not all channels are shared!
because there are channels merit sharing, others no.
so you see the keys of famous and important channels.
regards

There are other explanations of both BISS encryption and control words already on the board if you want to know more (use the search function - top right of site), but I actually think this is one of the better ones we've had (collectivity) so I'm sticky'ing this thread there's already a few sticky threads about Biss actually in the Biss keys section already if you want to look, if you also look at the constant control word keys section you will see we had a few hours out of the XXX Xtreme and the Cyfra+ ones TVP 1, TVP 2, TVP Info, Orange Sport & Orange Info, but it depends on how quick they were incorporated into the EMU (patched receiver, soft CAM, Hardware CAM, DVB Card etc) you were using and how soon the end user downloaded and updated their EMU or keys manually.

hello,

Is there any software or maybe website that can decode/convert from BISS Key to Constant CW ?

Thanks in advance

Did you even read the posts above?

No such thing as converting Biss key to Constant CW because Biss keys are Biss CW's.......

eg CW1: XX XX XX [CD] XX XX XX [CD] CW1: XX XX XX [CD] XX XX XX [CD]

XX = Key. [CD] = Check Digits. Only one CW (CW0 or CW1) is active at any one time.

Which receiver/CAM/EMU are you using, I think you are better asking about how to enter Biss or Control Word on your EMU. I assume you only have one working....

I am using Openbox X5 Pro, that using constant CW, but information that I have is BISS Key.

what can I do?

I use notepad for making new ccw files and upload it to receiver.

Ex : Future Channel 1
Thaicom 5 78.5°E
4040 H 30000
SID:038D

Biss key : 11 XX XX XX XX XX XX 22

This is format to convert Biss key to Constan.cw,and Softcam.key

Constan.cw
CAID: ProvID:Service ID:pMT PID :ECM PID::Biss key (Enter key 2 times )
2600:000009:038D:00D1:1FFF::11 XX XX XX XX XX XX 22 11 XX XX XX XX XX XX 22;
you can see all iformation from lyngsat.com

Softcam.key
F 038D1FFF 00 11XXXXXXXXXXXX22;
F 038D1FFF 01 11XXXXXXXXXXXX22;
Thank.

Same question.. where are this information available?

I do not know if you already know how to discover information but anyway there is a "how to"

We can find the channel/feed information on the enigma2 webif... put the IP of the box in a browser, enter and then just click "Current":

P.S.
s2emu1.28.1 works with biss? or you have to use another program with PROGDVB?
