I have problems with my new Kathi ufs 910. I wanted to flash it to new firmware. Unfortunately it went wrong, now I have read almost all guides and many post, to get it up running. I am able to connect through tftp and hyperterminal and follow below guide downloaded from hxxp://www.kathrein.de/esc-kathrein/englisch/data/receiver/ufs-910/ufs910_emergency-update-guide.pdf
But I stop at point 8 and receive this error from the hyperterminal:
STB7100-REF> set serverip 10.0.0.4;set ipaddr 10.0.0.10;set netmask 255.255.255.

SMC911X: PHY auto-negotiate timed out

My firewall is disconnected and the tftp folder is the right one.

UFS 910 – Emergency TFTP Update
Using this Update the Software Version V1.06 can be installed on the UFS 910.
To carry out this emergency TFTP update one requires a terminal and TFTP programme.
•Terminal Programme: e.g. Hyperterminal or TeraTerm
•TFTP Programme: tftpd32.exe
Now carry out the following steps:
1. Unpack the Emergency-TFTP-Update-Pack onto the PC
2. Define a PC IP Address: e.g. 192.168.1.10
3. Start the TFTP Programme tftpd32.exe
To check if the files are in the directory,
activate „Show Dir“ one should see the
following:
4. Start up the Hyperterminal (115200, 8,N,1, kein)
5. Connect the Receiver to the PC using a network and RS232 cable
6. Switch off the Receiver using the mains switch
7. Switch the Receiver on and shortly after that interrupt the boot process using ENTER;
in the Hyperterminal is displayed <STB7100-REF>

8. Now enter in the following or insert using COPY/PASTE and activate using ENTER:
set serverip 192.168.1.10;set ipaddr 192.168.1.11;set netmask 255.255.255.0;tftp a4100000
u986.flash;tftp a4900000 u987.flash
Note!! The above given IP addresses are examples – that is depending on the network
others can be given
In the Terminal Programme the following occurs:

9. Now enter in the following or insert using COPY/PASTE and confirm using ENTER:
prot off all;erase a0000000 a001FFFF;cp.b a4100000 a0000000 0x20000;erase a0020000
a0FFFFFF;cp.b a4120000 a0020000 0x7e0000;cp.b a4900000 a0800000 0x800000;prot on

10. When all has been carried out please carry out a receiver new start-up. (either by
switching the reciver off and on again or by entering „boot“ in the Terminal
Programme)
