13:00pm The Undercover Man (PG) 1949

An investigator for the treasury department is assigned the case of a notorious crime boss, who has evaded every charge against him but might just be brought down if he can be found guilty of tax evasion. However, the gangster's henchman are determined to kill anyone who might provide evidence that could put their boss behind bars. Entertaining thriller, based loosely on the battle to bring Al Capone to justice.

14:40pm Picnic at Hanging Rock (PG) 1975

Acclaimed director Peter Weir's beautiful and atmospheric period mystery about the disappearance of three schoolgirls and their teacher during a trip to the Australian landmark on Valentine's Day, 1900.

16:55pm The Thief of Bagdad (U) 1940
Alexander Korda's unmissable Oscar-winning Arabian Nights adventure, starring Sabu in the title role of the thief who finds himself imprisoned with the deposed king. Together, the pair come up with a plan to escape and reclaim the throne in the name of the rightful monarch with a little help from flying carpets, a genie, a magical jewel and an enchanted mechanical horse.

19:15pm The Woodlanders (U) 1997

Sawmill owner's daughter Emily Woof is forced to marry a wealthy doctor despite her love for a humble woodsman. Former documentary-maker Phil Agland turned his hand to fiction for this adaptation of the Thomas Hardy novel, but it's hardly convincing, let down by poor performances and a pace that lets scenes drag on for far too long.

21:00pm House of Flying Daggers (15) 2004

Two lawmen are sent to find the head of a rebel group, which threatens to destroy the Tang dynasty's tenuous grip on power. Their search takes them to a beautiful blind dancer, who they hope will lead them to the mysterious and influential figure but matters soon take a complicated turn.

23:10pm 8mm (18) 1999

Surveillance expert Nicolas Cage is dragged into a seedy world of murder and deception when hired to investigate a suspicious movie found among the possessions of a dead man. The film seems to contain scenes of a real-life killing but appearances can be deceptive.

01:35am Prick Up Your Ears (18) 1987

Gary Oldman gives an incredibly powerful performance in this energetic biopic of celebrated Sixties playwright Joe Orton, which concentrates on his turbulent relationship with lover, early collaborator and eventual murderer Kenneth Halliwell.
