Is this likely to be moved to 7.3 West and replace Eutelsat 7WA?

For me a lot of Eutelsat 7WA fringe reception channels have dropped signal quality recently (Could also be winter weather or my dish moved slightly in Blackpools gale force winds)

For example used to get Qatar TV & Oman TV as two of the strongest signals, now I suffer extreme break-up on Qatar TV (Just scraping 40% on the Technomate) and no longer (yesterday and today when I checked, although yesterday was expected with it raining on and off here) get Oman TV or Dubai Sports etc at 7.3W.

Eutelsat 7A will then move to a new location currently unknown.

7A three option to move are 12.5W, 33E or 174E

What do we know william-1,sattechtips and others here?

12418 H 27500 Dubai One HD OK here with 50% Signal Quality

Raining here so I do not expect to see AD Sport 1/2 until this evening when the signal gets stronger when they move the satellite about 9pm to get max signal on the solar panels this also moves the footprint further East :)

I do not think that 7A will move here as the intended service area is fine with 7 West A will be at 7.3 west It is possible that Eutelsat has moved the footprint further West maybe some in India can tell us if their reception has improved ?

Normal reception here from 7.3 west on other transponders with my 100cm SQ only down 5% compared to 5 years ago.

So its prob just normal drop off here as well then, used to get 46-48% on Qatar TV, down 6-8% but I am further North than youself. Shame. At least if high gale force winds have moved my dish it must be fractional/marginal.

Lets hope 7A does move somewhere useful for us like 12.5W as mentioned.

I think we will learn more very soon Eutelsat 7C is parked @ 7.2°east waiting to move to 7°east then 7A or 7B will move to a new location I think the change will now happen on Sunday the 1st of December.

I know i am further north than you but get most of 7.3w but AD Sport transponder 12467h 27500 only get occasionally now was stronger over the summer when for a few days pulled it in during the day. Another problem one for me is Dubai Sports on 12322v 30000 very rarely get it.
Qatar always ok currently 62%. Have felt for a while signals have been slightly down even at night under clear skies.

Relocation of Eutelsat 7A

Well 7A is not going 5°west or 139°west,

Maybe it is going to 13°east to release Hotbird 13E for a new location currently only 5% of this satellite's capacity is being used,

Or 33.1°east to release Hotbird 13D / Eutelsat 33E that is also using very little of it's total 64Ku band transponder capacity here,

Eutelsat's note on the movement of E7A:-
EUTELSAT 7A will be transferred to another orbital location as part of Eutelsat’s fleet optimisation strategy.

It is just arrived @12.0 East ... one more step and we will see.

Yes we will see don't forget that the automatic tracking will show that the satellite may have passed 13 East so it will be a few more days for the true location is known.:thum:

I think Eutelsat 33E and 36B may have 4 more years life-time espected so I think 13 east is the final destination as you wrote few post before:thum: and HB13E will move to support on 5WB.

Actually @LONGITUDE:13.57

I bet 1£ that it will fix Eutelsat 48D @48°E (launch date December 20, 2008) which due to the anomaly that happened shortly after the launch is operating at around 50% of its original capacity.
