Ukraine : Setanta retains EPL until 2024-25

September 23rd 2021

Setanta Sports, the international pay-television operator, has today announced that it has renewed its exclusive rights deal in Ukraine for English soccer’s Premier League for another three seasons.
The renewed agreement runs from the 2022-23 season through to 2024-25.

The new rights deal will also see a significant increase in the number of live games available for broadcast as Setanta will air all 380 games each season across its linear TV and digital platforms.
Under the existing agreement, the pay-TV operator shows over 230 Premier League games exclusively live – around six per week.

The Premier League was one of the first properties acquired by Setanta when it launched in Ukraine in 2019, signing a three-year deal until the end of this season.
Premier League rights in Ukraine were previously held by Media Group Ukraine.

The English top-flight features two Ukraine internationals in Manchester City’s Oleksandr Zinchenko and West Ham United’s Andriy Yarmolenko.
In addition to the Premier League, Setanta Sports is the exclusive home of England’s domestic cup competitions the FA Cup and Carabao Cup, as well as the second-tier English Football League.
Setanta’s soccer portfolio also includes Germany’s Bundesliga, Belgium’s Pro League and the Scottish Premiership.

Dwyer McCaughley, chief executive of Setanta Sports, said: “We are delighted that we will continue to be the only place in Ukraine to watch the Premier League for the remainder of the current season and for a further three seasons through to 2024-25. We look forward to continuing to show this fantastic product.”
Paul Molnar, Premier League chief media officer, added: “The Premier League is delighted to build on our long-term partnership with Setanta Sports in announcing an agreement in Ukraine for a further three seasons.
“Setanta Sports delivers excellent coverage of the Premier League and fans in Ukraine can look forward to more live matches than ever before and a commitment to broadcasting with Ukrainian commentary.”
