What E2 box to upgrade to from a Qivart Dual

A quick update.
Many days passed, and after I got the E2 side working properly, I never returned to the Android/Forever image. It works like crap.
So... I'm asking you guys for new fully E2 receiver recommendations. I'm looking for a device with good specs (fast, reliable, high-quality picture). Everything looks the same to me now, made in the same poor-quality company, plastic garbage remotes, 80's LED displays, etc.
Cheers

The thing about the qviart dual is that its the only receiver on the market that have both the forever side and e2 side. The forever side opens more packages that the E2 side. When choosing another E2 box its all down to your budget?

Octagon SF8008 although on paper it has the same chipset as the Dual it feels quicker.

For a proper upgrade though id go for the Gigablue UE.

Gigablue are bringing a new box out next month, the Quad Pro 4K, which should be good quality.

There is also the Pulse 4K (been around a while now) but has build quality on par with Vu+ boxes (although I believe they have downgraded the remote control now so unsure of the quality of that).

The Octagon SF8008 has a nice remote and the build quality is ok, but not as good as Gigablue or the Pulse4K imo.

No man. Of course, budget is important but I prefer paying for the actual technical specifications and quality. Forever Server is great but dealing with crap devices that feel recycled from garbage it's not my thing.

Thanks, man. I definitely will take my chances with some of these two boxes. Before some online research, I thought the VU+ was the no-brainer option but I have my doubts now, concerning those device support in the long term.

VU+ no longer manufacture boxes for the public, support will eventually disappear for the models available, id stay away from any surplus stock they might have lying around.

I know. The second-hand market is almost full of those devices, and the "new" company is still making some marketing efforts. But, if you are investing more than 200 quid in TV, better to ask some questions beforehand. :coffee::unsure:

Yes sadly Vu+ came to the market conquered it (produced better quality products than dmm at much lower prices) , then became a victim of there own success (undercut by all the cheap Chinese boxes) and have now left the market.

Gigablue and Octagon both been around a long time now and still going though.

Vu came and conquered then like DMM got greedy and people looked to other box manufacturers .
I don't agree with that, they set prices lower than DMM for higher spec boxes, and didn't increase them until just before they left the market.

Gigablue are now the most expensive brand still in the market and their prices are not massively different from Vu+ for the same spec boxes (UE 4K £215 vs Uno4KSE £262), so approx £50 difference, but the Uno4KSE has a slightly larger display and hdmi in.

The top spec Vu+ boxes (Ultimo4K, Duo4K, Duo4KSE etc) were expensive, but there was nothing on the market that was even close with the specs.

Well, the only affected were us, SAT fans. Now we have a market full of S!%&/() which still is overpriced and directly affected by greedy Broadcast license owners.

I'd a feeling you wouldn't in fact i expected you to disagree.

Prices have dropped though on the remaining VU+ stock when i was looking for a FBC tuner receiver 2 years or so ago there was £100 difference, made me think stick your HDMI in.

Ive always been a VU fan but £100 difference on very similar spec boxes, nah they got greedy.

Well, maybe less powerful than the top quality Vu+ Ultimo4K or Duo4KSE, but it seems a very interesting decoder.
And maybe the only high quality one in the market after Vu+ end.

Exactly the same CPU SPEC as in the VU+ Uno SE mate the DUO has a better CPU though and that chipset is the only one that will work with FBC tuners, that chipset is no longer made so there is some old stock about.

Remember, VU+ no longer make commercial sat boxes so buying one is like buying a Dreambox.

No or little support going forward if not now at some point.
