I have been using my vu+ duo(clone) for more than 5 months now without issue, recently I notice if I click Ok some time on a channel, the receiver will go off and start rebooting. I have changed to various images, the result is the same. Some time it keeps rebooting without stopping.

I have had same problem with my clone!...
If its the same as my problem i Tracked it to the PSU
Whenever the box needed a little power like epg loads zapping ETC it would reboot!
Seams like after some time the psu cant handle the load..
mine also would go in to a loop if i had wifi plugged in as it was using extra power....

Got rid of my duo Clone and got a Vu+ Ultimo :thum:

Guys clones, whatever brand are rubbish, stick to original boxes.
Better pay some more but be sure of an stable receiver.
I have been using my VU Duo since they came on the market, never a dsy any issues.

You make a vaery valid point but not all clone are bad ive had some DMM clones for a very long time with no issues Eagle DM500 clone still running, DM8000 still running DM500HD and DM800SE & SR4 clone still running.

I have had a mother board go in my Original 800HD though but it was 4 years old to its credit, ive had a fan and PSU go in my VU+ Duo which i replaced and it still going strong.

I guess my clones will go at some point as will all electrical kit one day.

Swings and roundabout there are some poor clones on the market i know just by from a UK source and youll get the same 12 month warrenty as a original.

I will at some point by a real Ultimo though to go with the duo but at the moment the clones are working well enough for me to resist this. :D

Clones are not necessarily the cause of reboots and remember those denigrating clones may sell legit Duos - so they may be just pushing the marketing line.

AFAIK I've got an legitimate Vu+ Duo and it sometimes reboots. So clones are not necessarily the cause.

Because of the HDMI switch-on facility, my TV switches on too. One night I thought I had a break-in because the TV was on downstairs. It took me a two more goes to work out that the 1:00 am scheduled epg download had somehow failed and caused a reboot! Epg now downloads at 8:00 am!

Also since BH 1.7.4 the whole software feels less stable than it once was - 1.6 say. Yesterday, for instance, I switched on to a find purple screen, a notice telling me a programme had been recorded and the whole box locked - not accepting any inputs. A reboot after power removal did nothing apart from remove the purple hue; it still couldn't get past 'starting gui'. In the end I did a complete re-install - third time on this release. So this latest software is a bit flakey; also the BH team seem not to want crash logs as there is no email address for the software to report its failings to. I had 9 crash logs at the last clear-out. All a bit odd if you ask me.

I do pound my box though with asking to stream over the net whilst in stand-by and maybe recording too.
