E2 flashing procedure for Amiko 7162 (Alien2)

Start with this
-download an E2 image from here:

STi 7111: http://pb-download.com/images/5.0/fulan/amiko8900-PBNIGMA-VX-5.0-20150526_usb.zip

STi 7162: http://pb-download.com/images/5.0/fulan/amikoalien2-PBNIGMA-VX-5.0-20150526_usb.zip

-I presume you do have a decompression application installed on your laptop/PC (7-zip or so)
-plug a USB memory stick into your PC/laptop
-format it in FAT32, using Windows capabilities (cursor on the device > right click > format > quick format > FAT32 > OK)
-double click on E2 image file - you should see (not always but most of the time) the content of the file - choose only the enigma2 folder and unpack it to the USB device you just formatted
-if the compressed file does not have enigma2 folder, then create one on your USB stick and unpack the two files needed for flashing (uImage and e2jffs2.img) into it
-unmount/eject the USB stick, take it out and go to your Alien1/2 receiver/multimedia centre

Preparation
-switch off your Alien1/2 using the switch at the back of A1/2 (electricity off, not just to Standby!)
-unplug all the USB devices from A1/2
-plug in your USB stick with E2 for A1/2 - at the BACK USB port, in Alien2 case

Flash it!
-press and hold the OK button on the A1/2 front panel, then switch A1/2 ON at the back, never letting go of the OK button
-display should show you various messages, the last one being “FORC”
-let go of OK button and press the V (arrow pointing downwards) button, just under the OK button
-when display shows “ENIG” > press the arrow pointing to the right (the ">" button), as you face A1/2
-you should see (briefly) "FACT" on your display, then U LD (it means "uploading"), then some numbers going fast (percentages of various parts of the image being uploaded)...
-wait between 5-10 minutes maximum (if it lasts longer something is wrong and you should repeat the procedure, possibly using a different USB stick, plus check the files are OK)
-when you see SUCC it means you "succeeded"

Finito!
-when you see A1/2 display showing "BOOT" take out the USB stick
-if A1/2 boots into the STANDBY mode (front display showing only the red lamp) then use your remote control unit (RCU) to start E2

Try unplugging the USB stick during the reboot, if you want to plug it into the front USB port and HDD into the back one (Alien2)...

===FLASHING ONLINE, DIRECT FROM THE INTERNET====

If you already have a PBNIGMA in your receiver, then this is very convenient and groovy, baby!!!
biggrin.png

-save your settings to a USB stick in PB Centre > SW Management > Backup System Settings (or any way you need it to be)
-blue button > PB Centar > SW Manager > Flash Online - make sure you have a USB plugged in and that it has at least 300MB free...
-when it restarts, go to the same place > Restore System Settings and voila!

===============AFTER THIS IS DONE===============

Do the SW update - Blue button > PB Centre > SW Manager > SW Update > choose... - your DVDs will now play from your NAS/laptop beautifully! Plus another 18 packages...

==============TRYING OTHER PLUGINS=============

If Media Player isn't working 100%, one may try another but then things might get slower, if you know what I mean...
z4dwink.gif
This is due to a change from Gstreamer 0.1 to v. 1.45 (or latter), which might be a tad too much for an "older" machine - or not patched properly for an SH4 machine...

=============SH4 ADDITIONAL STUFF===============

CamDs are available after extensions pbextra-sh4 is installed (OScam Emu 1064x is GREAT for all your needs... ;) )!

============MANY UNIQUE SKINS TO PB==============

Apart from excellent Sat TV part (CS included via OSCam EMU) and perfect DVD Player, cool Device Manager (minus Expander), one has many UNIQUE SKINS, MADE BY FRANC to choose from (I think everything would be even faster with a skin that isn't 32b, like the one that comes as default, so if you choose an older skin (PbmcHD is working great and it looks very similar), I think it should be even more impressive...

)...

==============EXCELLENT STRUCTURE===============

I also think this is the best thought-through image for this and many other boxes! Excellent structure, well organised and well presented!!!

===========CHANGE/MOUNT > RESTART E2!============

One more things: every time you make a change, especially mounting a device/partition/folder - RESTART PBNIGMA!!!!!

====DO NOT USE EXPANDER FEATURE OF DEV. MAN.=====

Warning: do not use the Expander feature of the Device Manager! It is not working perfectly, from my experience with Alien2...

==========USE A FAST USB STICK FOR EXTRAS==========

Instead, use a USB stick to send EPG, picons, SWAP (if one needs it), subtitles and so on to it. That way you are making it easier for your box!

===================REPORT BACK================

And please, do tell...:)

Good luck!!!

Camd: MENU > Plugins > Downlload Plugins > Extensions > pbextra-sh4 > OK > Yes!

Exit > Exit > Restart Enigma!

After the reboot go back to Plugins > Download plugins > camd > OSCam Emu 10648 > Exit > Exit.

Start FileZilla Client and login to PBNIGMA:
