Hi Team , hope your all well.

Looking for a little bit of guidance here as I know this has been covered briefly before.

Effectively what I’m trying to do is view my channels from my ipad/laptop while I’m away from home. I’m also keen to share my sport feeds with a family member.

I currently have a Virgin hub 4.0 which I understand cannot accept a VPN setup but it can be used in modem mode. I understand that I would need to purchase a router that I can configure a VPN. I’m not prepared to open ports on my current router.

What are the logistics of sharing a feed from my dish to a 2nd location via a URL Link? Would it be a case of editing the m3u file that Webif spits out?

From memory years ago you used to be able to set up a static IP and use a website called port forward. This is how you used to be able to give people a c line with access to our box. You then opened some ports on your routers firewall and could port forward to your linux box. I know years ago i could get access to my e2 box's webif from outside the home network but in those days the internet speeds were not good enough to watch channels.
