Is there anything different between the SF8008 and the supreme version.
Apart from.M.2 slot does anyone know?
As I was wondering if it was worth purchasing

I have one, that's the only real difference as far as I can tell. Only get the new one if you need a new receiver anyway. It's not worth replacing the old version unless you must have an internal SSD, but you will have to remove a warranty sticker to fit it.

Apparently the feed hunter scene tells me the tuner in the supreme is different and not as sensitive.
After many tests here with the different official updated drivers .......no improvement! The Avalink tuners in the 'SUPREME' Twin are not on a par to the Silabs used in the earlier SF8008. Also blindscan results are questionable.......voiced by others elsewhere. That said, the'SUPREME' is of equal quality re: video output, plugins and general use etc.......ok for most users and just a little below par for the dxer's. ;)

The dual tuner is very nice to have. In the USA a terrestrial tuner in a satellite receiver is useless. Legitfta.com has an extensive hands-on test and review. Pretty much on par with the Osmio series of receivers. Too bad the false claims of signal rates posted by Octagon and repeated by retailers has not been addressed. And is one main reason I am holding off from purchasing one. Blind scan, and thorough accurate ones are important to me. I believe the TNAP image allows for different tuner drivers to be used. Alternates being very slow but very thorough. I've tried the ones for the Osmio4k in in TNAP and planted them in ViX. You can pick up few more transponders using them. And have time to make a pot of coffee!
Tuner drivers for the Availink have been very well supported. Which is more than you can say for anyone else.

Maybe you could upload a backup image with the Osimio4K drivers for people to try ?

It seems that the first SF8008 version was very good to get DAB+ feeds from various satellite (5W, 9E, 23.5E....), don't know the SUPREME.
Unfortunately I never found a "how-to" guide for that, so I'm not able to test DAB+ reception due to my very poor linux skill. Anyone was successful in that operation?

I would gladly upload the backup drivers. The very second satuni let's you upload without using a file sharing site, links to it.
Otherwise load TNAP in a slot and grab them yourself. Or try the image out. It's a pretty 'slim' image based off of openpli. I believe getting the optional drivers requires updates in the system menu.

Edit:
But since folks have been helpful to me. Having a weak moment.
Here are the two drivers and the ViX 6.6 driver.

Nice point about the 'SUPREME' is that, as far as I am aware, the Avalink tuners show a below lock reading showing SNR: and BER: values as opposed to the Silabs tuners which do not indicate a below lock value.........possibly an aid to fine tuning on the 'SUPREME?

Whatever, part of this great hobby. (y)

Screenshots show a purposely moved motor position to show a 'Lock: locked' and 'Lock: not locked' examples.

13.0ºe
12054 H 29900 5/6...... easy catch here with 1.2m offset.

Minimum 'Lock: locked' = 5.0 dB

Failed lock 'Lock: not locked' = 4.0 dB

Here on the forum there are two topics dedicated to DAB processing in enime2

Just another comparison on the SF8008 'SUPREME' model.

First time today for several months the very absent frequency of 12129 V 27500 5/6 on the Astra 2E UK beam was received here in Alicante Sth on the SF8008 receiver.....albeit with BER.

Again unfortunately, the newer 'SUPREME' model saw nothing!

A good test for us here as we are def on the fringe re: the UK beam of 28.2ºe.

Not receivable earlier today but as the sun and temperature lowered to 27.8ºC this afternoon the signal on the earlier SF8008 model came good...........happens same every year and best reception for us generally end of year. (y)

Hi
Define OS 1.06.47 when you turn on the receiver, there is no signal for channels with V polarization, you switch to H and back there is a signal . Why?

internal ssd the write and copy speed is only 30 megabytes/s, which is not enough. I thought that at the level of a gigabit local network it would be about 100 megabytes/s. Wired HDD speed is gigabit.
The receiver does not display the temperature ssd I did not install the radiator, it probably does not heat up.
Wifi 5, speed 300 megabits/s or 30 megabytes/s

On the Menu 'Installation/Antenna settings' screen, check the 'LNB power' panel is set as'13V/18V'......if set as only '18V' it wil not show a signal. Good luck.(y)

It's enabled in the settings, but there's no signal, in openatv everything works fine

I have tested firmware versions .47 and .52 both on the 'SUPREME' + the earlier SF8008........both function as should. I
do not generally use the 'Define OS' as I prefer the 'openATV' and GUI skins. Hope you manage to sort.

I haven't checked the universal ones, LNB 10750 is where this glitch occurs.
