Fringe Reception, 4W, 26E & 42E

On my current 1.1m set up I receive MEGASPORT @ 4W 10723H 27500 3/4 & MTV Ukraine 10759H 30000 3/4 most days (ie no heavy rain).

yet the footprint for the Europe Beam (which these two transponders are on) is reported as:

amos2_eur.gif

Which indicates a 1.9m to 3m dish is required for 4W Europe Beam.....and forget the Hungarian only beam!!!

On my old 95cm set up I used to receive the MBC channels on 26E @ 11919H 27500 3/4 (and the stronger Dubai One on 12130V 27500 3/4) , I have yet to get them on my 1.1m except at stupid o'clock (3-4am) so I suspect my dish requires a little tweaking still.

However my question to everyone, in North West England has anyone had success with Turksat 42E East Beam, eg

CNBC-e @ 42E Turksat 3A - 11054H 30000 5/6 for example ?

on a 1m to 1.2m?

I have a 1.2 metre dish at home and live south east of the country in england. I have tested the channel in question and I'm afraid it is a no I can't receive it in theory you will need a dish at least 3 metres in diameter so is out of the question my friend.

Hope my answer helps EMPB.:)

My previous installation 95cm dish:

I received Dubai One no problem on 26E at nearly 100% signal
and got the MBC and weaker transmissions at around 26-33%

I also received the 16E split transponder signal from Nat Geo Music fine with no problems.

And on 39E the split transponder 10956V 4123 7/8 for MAD TV Bulgaria and GNET both came in fine at close to 100%.

I now have a 1.2m Dish (as the 1.1m wasn't any better than the 95cm but still not improved things) that is supposed to be of higher gain. A standard LNB got better results than my high gain low noise (0.2db) LNB (but still worse than the previous 95cm installation) and I am using a different cable run.

I am in NW England near Preston (Blackpool) Lat 53.8 Long 3.0

I was wondering what you guys receive and what your opinions are about my new installation.

I feel I should try with new cable run and different LNB's before attempting dish alignment again as everything else on 45E, 42E, 39E, 36E, 33E, 28.2E, 25.5E (Duabi One not MBC and strangely not BBC World either), 23.5E (not German beam), 19.2E, 16E, 13E, 10E/9E, 7E, 4.8E, 4E/3E, 0.8W/1W (no nordic beam reception, had before), 4W (Megasport/MTV Ukraine transponders only), 5W, 8W, 12.5W (Fox Srbija ok but not Fox Germany), 15W (NBC feeds ok), 22W, 24.5W, 30W, 43W, 45W seems ok.

Its a Televes dish anyone any experience with one of these and problems setting it up.

In other words at the moment I'm getting slightly less than what I used to get with my 95cm dish and am not happy :( neither is the guy setting it up with me as he's had to make many return trips - but its just not right!!

Am I getting too much signal its flooding the weaker transmissions - who knows - but Nothing from Nat Geo Music on 16E!!!.......or Fox Germany on 12.5W.....

i'm about 40 miles south of you mate and i also use
a 1.2 chn master dish with a 0.2 titanium smart lnb
and get strong signals from the sats i have set from
42e to 30w. i also use a 36v 18" superjack motor and a gbox
v-box, to convert diseqc 1.2 to 36v this was on the advice
from the guy who set the dish up he said he would'nt use a diseqc motor on any dish over 1mtr

thanks, going to start with the feedhorn first, although the dish was aligned with a standard (not televes) feedhorn. And on 13E (not in the middle of the arc [45E+ to 45W+] 0.8W or 4W - I think 4W would be best as less going on even if 5W is included).

agree?

Edit:

align on:

Thor 3 (0.8W) - 11747.00 H - Txp: 2 - Beam: Nordic DVB-S (QPSK) - 28000 5/6

or:

Amos 2 (4.0W) - 10722.00 H - Txp: 22 - Beam: Europe DVB-S (QPSK) - 27500 3/4
Amos 2 (4.0W) - 10759.00 H - Txp: 22 - Beam: Europe DVB-S (QPSK) - 30000 3/4

check:

Badr 4 (26.0E) - 11919.00 H - Txp: 11 - Beam: BSS DVB-S (QPSK) - 27500 3/4

Got 0.8/1W already m8, just needs tweaking therefore best to go for the weakest beam. The Nordic Beam which should be at 26-33%.

I get 4W MEGASPORT & MTV Ukraine now just with exteme break up which is worse than it was before - so clearly alignment/lnb/feedhorn/cable issues etc, no trees in dish eyelign.

thanks
