anyone got "homeshare" working ?
I can share my local cards from my e2 box to the viark no problem, but would much rather share the other way......

It won't work the other way, and if you share your local cards to the viark, then keep an eye on things as they will start requesting from your local cards.

I paid at teatime for SP1 for my Viark Sat 4k on the charging website it shows my server has been updated to 2024 but on my box it still shows my old date of 2023 obviously the de and uk channels are still white for me and I have unplugged/rebooted the box several times

this happened to me with viark drs2 date of expiry didn't change,i tried rebooting factory reset but made no difference. it did change after couple days time but i kept getting crashes with grafitti message not working etc.it then went back to old expiry date.i went from firmware 1.05 to 1.06 and i was getting loads of problems.i used recovery method for my viark drs2 with original firmware then loaded 1.06 into my viark and new upgraded date returned without crashes.

Yes updated it just before I did the SP1 thingy

I am on 1.14 dated the 01 Dec 2022

Exactly the same thing happened to someone on TKs same box type same symptoms and he has tried everything in the last few days to resolve the issue without success.

i would try what @archiesat said, factory reset, flash latest firmware and dont restore anything. Basically start over.

I just used the inbuilt updater not worried about channels as I hardly watch 'tv' so it was literally a fresh upgrade its a bit of a strange one never had a problem with this box and I have had it a while

I do the same TBH, but i had to factory reset for a clean install this time. (my box is the DRS2 so may be completely unrelated to your issue)

See what happens in the next 24 hours will unplug it overnight if it carries on a factory reset it is

Just gives model name not host name.

Ok did a factory reset of sorts back to version 6.00 then updated to 1.14 now all is good thank you everyone for your help

device name = Viark Sat 4K
unless you happen to have a different type of box ?

That is all that is required device name & Serial number .
it really is that simple : )

Not Viark no and never come across a Forever box with cable.

There was a Twin tuner model available by Mediastar.
