Eutelsat 10B new satellite will launch in 2022

Eutelsat up's the capacity of 10B to 100 Ku band transponders + unknown amount of C band transponders,

A second payload to extend coverage across the Atlantic Ocean, Africa and the Indian Ocean.

The satellite’s HTS payloads will be able to process more than 50 GHz of bandwidth, offering a throughput of approximately 35 Gbps.

EUTELSAT 10B will also carry two widebeam C- and Ku-band payloads to ensure service continuity for existing customers on the EUTELSAT 10A satellite.

Eutelsat 36D

Eutelsat has signed a contract with Airbus for the procurement of EUTELSAT 36D, to succeed EUTELSAT 36B at 36° East.

With coverage of Africa, Russia and Europe, 36° East is a key orbital slot. Its two satellites, EUTELSAT 36B and EUTELSAT 36C, together notably support the broadcast businesses of major anchor customers including Multichoice and ZAP in Africa and Tricolor and NTV+ in Russia.

With 70 physical Ku-band transponders, the all-electric EUTELSAT 36D will assure all the main legacy missions of EUTELSAT 36B, with enhancements to coverage areas and performance.

Based on the state-of-the-art Airbus Eurostar Neo platform, the satellite is due for launch in the first half of 2024.

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket will launch the Hotbird 13F television broadcasting satellite for Eutelsat. Hotbird 13F is the first satellite to be built on Airbus’s new Eurostar Neo all-electric spacecraft design, and will provide television broadcast services to Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. The Falcon 9’s first stage booster will land on a drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean. Hotbird 13G launch will follow before end on the year. The HOTBIRD 13F and 13G satellites will both have more than two tons of payload, spacecraft power of 22 kW and yet a launch mass of only 4,500 kg, thanks to Electric Orbit Raising. They will enhance Eutelsat’s ability to serve its 135 million customers across Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. Satellites Hotbird 13F and 13G will replace Hotbird 13B-13C-13E.

It will take approx 2 to 3 months for the new Hotbrds to reach 13E after launch with the electric drives this is how long it took 7C Launched 20th June 2019 entered service September 2019.

Hot Bird 13F 13°E to launch 14th October 2022
Estimated to reach geostationary orbit January 2023
Hot Bird 13G November 2022,
Hotbird's 13B/13C/13E will be relocated to new positions that will be announced after the successful
launch of the new satellites.
Electric drive satellites take longer to reach their orbit position for example Eutelsat 7C an Electric drive satellite launched 20th June 2019 eventually reached geostationary orbit by September 2019.

First Airbus Eurostar Neo satellite successfully launched just hours before its twin arrived at KSC

BelugaST fuelled with 30% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) for Toulouse departure



A special aircraft landed at the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral in Florida this weekend: the Airbus BelugaST (A300-600ST).
It delivered the Airbus-built HOTBIRD 13G satellite for Eutelsat (launch planned next november). This happened a few hours after its twin, HOTBIRD 13F, was successfully launched by a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.

SpaceX is targeting Wednesday, November 2, for the launch of the Eutelsat HOTBIRD 13G mission to a geosynchronous transfer orbit from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. The 116-minute launch window opens at 11:26 p.m. ET (03:26 UTC / 04:26 CET on November 3). A backup launch opportunity is available on Thursday, November 3, with the same window.

Eutelsat 10B​


Eutelsat 10B is a planned all-electric communications satellite built by Thales Alenia Space on the Spacebus-Neo-200 platform for Eutelsat Communications to provide inflight and maritime connectivity at 10° East.
Eutelsat 10B will carry two multi-beam HTS Ku-band payloads: a high-capacity payload, covering the North Atlantic corridor, Europe, the Mediterranean basin and the Middle East, offering significant throughput in the busiest air and sea traffic zones, and a second payload to extend coverage across the Atlantic Ocean, Africa and the Indian Ocean. The satellite’s HTS payloads will be able to process more than 50 GHz of bandwidth, offering a throughput of approximately 35 Gbps.The entire satellite payload will be digitally processed, offering capacity allocation flexibility thanks to a digital transparent processor.
Eutelsat 10B satellite will carry two widebeam C- and Ku-band payloads (36 Ku-band transponders, 20 C-band transponders), totalling 32 to ensure continuity of the missions of the Eutelsat 10A satellite, whose operational life is scheduled to end in 2023
