Astra 5B (31.5°E) does not broadcast channels

Satellite Astra 5B (31.5°E) no longer provides television services. On June 30, the last 3 active SES transponders with free-to-air (FTA) channels and Warner Bros. channels turned off. Opening for pay TV operators in Europe.

Several FTA broadcasters have released tp. 6 (11.817 GHz, pol. V, SR: 27500, FEC: 3/4; DVB-S / QPSK). Turan TV, DW English HD and VTV Romania

were excluded. The first station moved to Eutelsat 7B (7°E) in the Europe B band, while the other two chose the Astra 4A (4.8°E) satellite with pan-European coverage. It has also been repaid. 18 (12.051 GHz, pol. V, SR: 30000, FEC: 3/4; DVB-S2 / 8PSK). Chanson TV, TBN Ukraine and The Word Network were recently broadcast here. The last two stations can now be received on the Astra 4A (4.8°E) satellite. For distribution

Warner Bros. Discovery etc. was used. 19 (12.071 GHz, pol. H, SR: 30000, FEC: 3/4; DVB-S2 / 8PSK). Most of the channels in this package have been moved to Eutelsat 21B (21.5°E). This applies, for example, to Discovery Central Europe SD , Animal Planet CAAC SD , ID CAAC SD , TLC CAAC SD , Eurosport 1 NEE HD and Eurosport 2 NEE HD .

For more than a year, we observed channel closures on the Astra 5B satellite from a position of 31.5°E.
First, a number of Russian-language ZVT stations were removed, and then the Georgian MagtiSat platform stopped working, switching to IPTV. In addition, all transponders were produced by Orange Romania, which merged with Orange Romania Communications to form a single DTH platform distributed on the Hellas Sat 3 (39°E) satellite. For MagtiSat, 4 transponders were used (only 1 in the last stage of work). Romanian Orange had 7 transponders.

The Astra 5B satellite in the orbital position of 31.5°E served the regions of Central and Eastern Europe, Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States in June 2014. He had 40 Ku-band transponders and 6 equivalent Ka-band transponders at his disposal. The satellite has another 6 years of estimated "life" in orbit.

The main goal of the move was the launch of EGNOS from position 23E, satellite transmission so far only has a backup function in the event of an A3B failure, since A5B does not have the necessary capacity to receive all satellite services in the Ku and Ka bands.

A3B
  • Ka-band 4
  • Ku-band 60
A5B
  • Ka-band 6
  • Ku-band 40
  • L-band 2

I'm thinking 19.2 cable on Astra 5b satellite, I'm on the wing where the Astra 1kr has expired. The satellite was launched in 2006. Will Astra 31.5 send new satellites?
