anyone know if you can straight-swap a cable tuner for a satellite tuner in a dm800se ??

Hi all, I am keen to try some new skins. What is the procedure for obtaining the latest/newest ones, and what do I need to make sure of. Do the skins need to be matched to: 1)my particular image, 2)my dreambox model, 3) my sim, 4)my ssl# ?? Where do I ftp the skins to ? Any links to a tutorial...

Was just wondering, many posts are saying "backup your dreambox before flashing". How does this help? I've flashed a corrupt image before & the box doesn't get passed the boot stage, so unable to effectively recover any "saved" settings. I'm sure I'm not alone in this, am I wasting my time...
