You mean that aiming american sats you do not see all prime, sports, news and movies that AFN broadcast in different satellites??
What is the question?

The questions are:

1. Can you provide an example of a primary uplink you are referring to?
2. Can you give an example of channels carried by AFN that can be viewed on many sats - i.e satellite position + frequency?

Thanks.

Maybe the guy is talking about feeds? :/ lol

No you guys misunderstand. AFN is like a cable company they redistribute content.

He said the content they carry is on other sats (at least in north america) and in better quality. The "primary uplinks" he refers to are the transponders used by the content creators to distribute to providers like AFN and a thousand other redistributors. They are master quality, unlike AFN.

I never understood peoples fascination with AFN, unless that was the only thing you could receive in your area.

Zayden explained better than myself.
And let me ask the ones that have some doubt about all AFN content is broadcasted in other sats over the america and atlantic,to post just the AMOUNT of channels they are able to open in the arc,and anybody could have a sense of what we are talking about, because everything in AFN,even movies, are somewhere.
In just a single case, just the VOD channels in the dishnet sats give you all the movies you want.

For those in the US, that's true. But in Europe, there is no TV operator who would carry US late night talk shows, daytime TV shows and full US news coverage. There are very few exceptions that usually don't last long or broadcast the shows with too much delay at impossible to watch showtimes. For this content, AFN is the ONLY satellite provider out there.

We know, but the key of this conversation was about chinese boxes and money, and mocking the "pros".
Was never the intention to demerit the fact AFN is all they got in other parts of the world.
I just stated the obvious in our region that debunk the sense all people is crying for AFN to be down.
It is clear that as long as the public coders have any information, updates will come quick, but is a big IF because the stream updates are needed and might not be easily available.

So why don't we still get to see AFN? Can someone with the knowledge give us some hints?

a) was the 2.90 firmware encrypted in some way and reverse engineering was not possible, so the AFN's EMM masking mode is actually not known, even to those who hacked FW 2.75?

b) is AFN using EMM double encryption which is still a mystery since Colibri just mentioned it years ago but it was never used?

c) are the hackers on vacation so they don't want to spend so much time putting C code together to unmask the EMMs?

d) are the hackers negotiating with the Chinese and if they don't pay, the hackers will release the code to public in oscam (and the Chinese will immediately copy it to their receivers)?

e) is a fix ready but are the hackers waiting until more providers use the new EMM masking before rolling out the hack to public?

I would start by asking: Is the latest firmware available to hackers (and obviously those hackers that are willing to hack it for the public, not for making profit)?

But that is still all encrypted, so you still to have the ability to decrypt it or use CS. Also AFN is for US troops out of the US reception areas, i.e people in Europe. So this is why people in Europe etc are missing it because we dont get those american channels. I can understand why if your in america or can get american satellites it may seem like an irrelevant package, but it was quite a nice little package for those of us on the other side of the world!

Tandberg - Gone except 1.9E Arena Channels
AFN - Gone
Discovery Networks - Very Soon Gone as new hash modes already started
SiS - likely Very soon will be gone
MTN - Long time Gone
New BISS CAID 2610 already Started on BT EPL Feeds

That is the current situation it is far from the excitement of what we had bit more than a year ago ,
we may have won a battle but broadcasters have since upped their game and are now winning the war :mecry:

PowerVu isn't technically dead at all. The only way for it to be dead is for the provider to swap all UAs for new ones, only use D9800. Then there won't be a way to get EMM and ECM keys. At least one Asian provider probably did that. Anything else is just using this and that mode of masking and hashing and whatever, which is simply not any real additional security. The only reason why we don't have those providers working is because some people simply decided to stop helping the public (and Chinese businessmen in consequence), that's about it.
