ReelBox Avantgarde Software-Update

Software Update
Please use the convenient online update feature ReelBox to set the device to be kept updated. As new updates are available, the avant-garde ReelBox you automatically on the screen menu arrives. Simply follow the instructions on screen to update. To online updates related to, it must have ReelBox avant connected to the Internet.

Reinstallation of installation DVD
A new installation is required only if the avant-garde ReelBox to factory default settings should be, for example, a serious problem. To Install DVD records, please download one of the first below-listed versions for the avant-garde series ReelBox down. Then follow the instructions for burning an installation DVD. The guide is available from the link to the right.


Note: It is strongly advised before an update or reinstalling all the important user data secure! For any data loss occurring, we can not take responsibility. Please be sure to update after the update disc from the drive to remove, because otherwise after the restart ReelBox without query the software will be raised again.

News Factory DVD image for reinstalling the ReelBox avant-garde. Factory version writes about Mediadaten all (recorded TV, etc.) and settings of the user and puts in ReelBox delivery!

VDR; software ReelBox

The Video Disk Recorder is a Linux program written by Klaus Schmidinger. It is used to receive digital TV and radio programs with a Personal Computer. If you wish you can record and play back those recordings at will.

Like any other hi-fi equipment, VDR can be controlled through remote control sets. The user interface is a menu displayed on the television (On Screen Display).

The software is released under the GPL. Everybody can download and use the source code freely. Also there exist many extensions in the form of Plugins and Patches, e.g. a DVD player or a MP3 player.

I'm going to put the steps I followed to install it.

1 .- open RCC, and we dirgimos to: etc/vdr/plugins/setup/vdr-menu-xml.vdr



2 .- edit that file, and we put that line like this in the catch.



3 .- we go to the folder / tmp and copy the gboxinfo in it.



4 .- we went to telnet and run the command: dpkg -i /tmp/gboxinfo-0.0.5.deb



5 .- then execute the command: /etc/init.d/gbox-info



6 .- after restart, and we will see two new menu options.

The easiest way to keep your ReelBox Avantgarde up-to-date.

Follow these steps to conduct an online update (internet connection required):

Setup -> Installation -> Update -> Online Update

Reinstallation via Installation-DVD

Please Note: The use of a Recovery- or Factory-DVD is rarely necessary for correcting system errors. Please only do so, if instructed by a memeber of the Reel Support Team.

To keep the software of your ReelBox Avantgarde updated, please use the Online-Update function in the ReelBox's Setup Menu.

Current Factory-DVD-Image for new installations of the ReelBox Avantgarde. This Factory-Version will overwrite all Media Files (TV-recordings etc.) as well as all user settings and will reset the ReelBox factory settings !

To conduct an update for your ReelBox Lite, please download the below listed software and burn it on a CD. After inserting this CD into the Reelbox, restart the system.
