Images Vantage HD 8000

What additional components have you used to power the fan? My Vantage 8000 is starting to overheat with the HDD inside.

There is an added circuit with a thermal sensor on the HDD,apparently.
In this case,the fan will go off if the temeprature reaches a certain level.
Now,you don;t need this if you prefer the fan to be on full time,if you feed the volatge from the same cable the supply voltage to the HDD.

What is the voltage for the HDD?

It has two pairs.
Yellow/black is 12 volts
red/black is 5 volts

Hi, should we use a 80 GB HDD ?

Do we have a minimal limit ?

I didn't put any thermal circuit,the fan runs continuously,but is super quiet,so it doesn;t bother me.

You can use any size hard drive,the problem is when you have bugs,vantage won;t help you fix them if is not in the list of supported drives.

what maximum size HDD?
