Target not connect or target is error status!

HI! I am new to the site. I need help with my Echolink-808 fta. I cannot update it. i am using aliminiupg5 and i keep getting this problem.

Please power on your STB.
Open Serial Port..
Sync to serial port..
Target not connect or target is error status!

What should i do? I am using null cable db9f. cable is new.
PLZ HELP!

i do exactly.
The receiver doesn't have a on, off switch on back.
so i plug the power cable out and then in.

Same problem here.Even changed the cable,shows the following massage.
Please power on your STB.
Open Serial Port..
Can not connect serial port!

I am facing problem with my receiver "STAR SAT SR-X6300CU SUPER".
When I downloaded the software "Ali3329C" it started giving following problems:
1. Showing Boot after turning power on and hanged up.
2. Unable to connect my PC.(TARGET NOT CONNECT OR TARGET IS ERROR STATUS) :please
I need your support for the help.

Make sure that you are on the right port.

I got this message i checked and the cable looked fine then I checked again and it was slightly out on the pc Port.

its worth totally removing the cable from both ports then reconnecting.
