Vodafone, beIN partner for Champions League final in Ultra HD

| 09 May 2017

Vodafone will be the only pay-TV player delivering the Champions League final in 4K in Spain thanks to an exclusivity agreement with beIN Sports.
The final game, to be played in Cardiff on 3 June, will have a Spanish team, following tomorrow’s semi-final match between Atlético de Madrid and Real Madrid, thus drawing special attention from the Spanish fans.

“The most awaited game of the season will be available in Ultra HD quality through beIN Sports only for Vodafone TV’s subscribers who own a 4K screen and the latest Vodafone set-top box and are subscribed to the Vodafone Futbol or Vodafone Sport packages,” stated the British telco.

The announcement comes short after Vodafone deployed the first country-wide live 4K broadcasting with El Clásico between Real Madrid and Barcelona. Following Barça’s win and a successful UHDTV experience, the telco aims to deliver a similar Ultra HD programming for the same group of suitable clients.

Since the beginning of the football season in Spain, Vodafone has been using sports to drive 4K broadcasting, gradually introducing more live Ultra HD programming into its line-up.
