Nordija launches Android TV box platform

Nordija has developed an operator-focused solution for Android TV that combines the operator branded interface with full access to third party apps, games and services such as Netflix, HBO and Youtube via the Google Play Store.
According to Nordija, the aim is to expand the reach and options of pay-TV operators, when building and delivering set-top-box solutions. By integrating with Android TV, Nordija´s software solution fokusOn will provide operators with more options availablewhen launching an Android TV based platform.
Commenting on the development, Thomas Christensen, CEO at Nordija, said: “We are happy to announce that we are developing a launcher for Android TV.This gives us the freedom to build a customised interface, while keeping theAndroid TV ecosystem, granting the operators more efficient access to third party services. We see a great potential in this as it combines the power ofthe Google Play Store with the ability to use the custom branding of the
operator.
“By integrating with the Android TV framework, we can provide TV operators with the tools to deliver a solution that aim at the needs and requirements of younger generations without compromising the experience on the primary TV set in the home as we know it.”
