I have problem open box x5 It is on standby mode. All you see is a red light. When remote control pressed nothing happens. Does it mean it is useless or is there any chance to bring this back to life?

i had this problem with one receiver,
do you have rs232 cable?
-my problem was something gone wrong with updates, then I switched box off, then I had the same problem like you do.
what I done, I connected receiver to pc (rs232 cable), then instal first software from pc using rs232, then was everything ok.

so can you not recover an X5 from stuck in standby?
Im about to buy one but I wont if there is no way to recover from this. I had this with my S11 and had to RS232 it.
How do you recover an X5 from stuck in standby? :confused:

get usb stick and put a folder called recovery on and put firmware in the folder unzipped
it must be formatted fat 32 hope it works

my openbox x5 hd reciever not working cz during installation of image at fault of electricity. now i did try from usb but don't working. now i m using window7 and want to upgrade s/w from my own pc with rs232 plz help me and give me simple loader
