Dream TV Multimedia, a leading manufacturer of set-top boxes with Linux, the market in July innovative model DREAMBOX DM 500 HD in the new design. As the name suggests, it is a device that will be able to receive programs in both standard (SD) and high definition (HDTV) in the compression format MPEG-2 and MPEG-4.

DREAMBOX DM 500 HD is surprisingly include HDMI (current models DM800 and DM8000 have only DVI) and esat interface for connecting an external hard disk drive (HDD). Model DM500 HD will be on the market sold for a price around 299 euro.

The device was first introduced at the end of May at the fair involvement Cable 2009.

hi there!

the DM500HD model has USB. there is an miniUSB port in the backpannel between the tuner and scart connector.

looking good, i'll happily pay £260 for the DM500HD in black.

Wonder what type of filesystem it will format e-sata hdd's. Would be nice if it could be done in NTFS so i can use it to connect to my pc and read straight from it rather than having to send via ethernet.

with 400mhz cpu hopefully we might get faster lan transfers as most hd boxes only get 4-6mb/s:( would like to get full 11mb/s

The receiver manufacturer Dream-Multimedia (Dreambox) is in July with the delivery of his new HDTV receiver DM500 HD start,As the company announced on Thursday, the device for around 300 Euro available. Fitted is the entry-level model, inter alia, with an HDMI port and an eSATA port for external hard drives. Further technical details, the manufacturer has not yet published

not sure if thats right tan1, your specs say 400mhz cpu when the specs from elsewhere in this thread say 500mhz cpu.

WONT IS GOING TO HAPPEND WITH THE DM-800 HD DUMP UP IN THE CORNER.WITH THIS NEW ONE OUT.

will this Dreambox DM 500 HD support all files which using in normal Dreambox DM500s or a difference b/w them ?
