Change VT-1 firmware to the HD one?

Hi!
Bought a new Vantage VT-1 recently *disappointed*:(. It has a possibility to change between 2 Vantage sucking firmwares (called RTOS and "Linux"). The name Linux has nothing to do with the Linux OS - in VT-1 being fixed and closed, without possibilities to enter ie plugins.

Is there a way to make the VT-1 accept the firmwares/patches of the Vantage 8000 HD?

The boxes are so very much alike, and I will not lack the possibility to change between RTOS/"Linux"-firmwares (in VT-1). They have same (.dlp) endings, but the VT-1 gives a message of error - "intended for another box". I have also already tried to rename the .dlp to the patched .hdp of 8000-series - no success. The .dlp-fw for 8000 is 6 MB, the one for VT-1 is 8 MB...

Any suggestion welcome - I wont miss the VT-1 if becoming useless *yes that bad!!*

No innovative solution available?

Another victory of the Vantage-team hostility to support useful software once the flashy unit is bough... t:rolleyes:
