HSE24 to join German DVB-T2 platform

German home-shopping channel HSE24 will be part of the German DVB-T2 network launching in urban areas on March 29, 2017.

A carriage agreement has been signed with transmitter network operator Media Broadcast. The channel will be part of the unencrypted line-up. In total, three commercial channels – Bibel TV, QVC, HSE24 – will be aboard DVB-T2.

Around 20 commercial channels including the channels of the two large commercial TV groups RTL and ProSiebenSat.1 will be part of encrypted platform Freenet TV viewers will be able to receive for a subscription fee of €5.75 per month.

Around 20 channels operated by the public broadcasters will be transmitted unencrypted.

HSE24 has so far only been available on DVB-T in federal states Berlin, Bavaria and Lower Saxony. With the launch on successor system DVB-T2, the channel will cover all urban areas across Germany, reaching around 55 million people.
