Technomate 5402 hd m3 records copy protected files

That is what it looks like anyway. When I try to back up recordings the copied files do not play in videolan, even though they take up space on the hard drive.

Does anyone know a workaround for this? I am planning on getting rid of this receiver, but will have to keep it as a media player if there is no way of getting round the copy protection.

had same problem with files from technomate , gom player or edit copied files with "AVIDEMUX" or "HANDBRAKE" , i work since years with that programms and all is okay

Thanks gents - that is great, just what was needed. I can now get rid of the receiver. Given the amount of problems it has given it will have to go for recycling, can't sell it on.

technomate is really not the right receiver for recording something , best solution is here with tv card (4.2.2 feeds) or old Dreambox with HDD was very good also ...
