finally got the image on
but now i have more probs
im using motorised dish but cant see any settings for usals
what do i do now
sorry about this im such a noob to all this

Hi mate

Menu-Setup-service searching - motor

Tick Gotox and then enter your coordinate green button to save.

What was the problem then with not been able to load the image?

com port would not connect
ok ive loaded image
when i set my long+lat
made sure gotox is x out
then do auto search it just reboots now
omg its a strain :)
im certain im not far away
but yet again a brick wall

Just one more thing could it be the image ?
ive tried SifTeam-1.9.4-500MV.img
EDG-NEMSSIS_4.4._Skin Rihana_Special_SPCS_2.5.16_Maxvar_27.02.2010.img

Do soft reboot

Menu-option5-reboot now?

Does it boot into image or does it go through the initial setup again?

If it goes into image

Menu-setup-service searching.

Choose manual scan with network ticked.

EDG is a good image but the one you mention is a backup image i recommend using the Base image.

Ok Ferret can you point me in right direction for the image you mentioned ,i have to pick daughter up now that will take possibly 1 hour then i will re-flash with the image you suggest then ill report back to you

Hi Ferret
seems old image has put a password on now thats different from normal one , now i cant connect using flash wizard without this password

are you sure its a password problem and not an ip problem, all new images are usually default username=root password=dreambox.

go to expert setup and check the network settings and ip address, tick the DHCP box save and reboot, go back to expert setup and you should see your true ip.

i was just following what brummie said ,ive found the ip from my router put that in and still wont connect

ok after a reboot these are the settings it comes up with
ip= 192.168.1.67
netmask = 255.0.0.0
type = lan
name server =192.168.1.254
gateway = 127.0.0.1
