It should be possible. After all. it is just a computer. It has HD output, WiFi, Hard drive, USB ports. There has to be a way to install some software or some kind of UNIX based program to get this to work.
I would really hate to spend money on a IPTV box when I have a PS3 sitting there collecting dust.
