WWE.com Lists The Official Decision of the Cena/Y2J Match

Following last night's Raw, WWE.com listed in their results section that John Cena defeated Chris Jericho in the main event via disqualification. This seems odd, as Randy Orton did not physically attack either wrestler in the match before the referee called for the bell, leading many to believe, including myself, that the match should have ended in a no-contest.

Off Air Raw Notes: Dark Match Result, "Bret Screwed Bret"

Thanks to Jeremy for sending in the following:

-Prior to the show going on the air last night, and a few times during the live show, there was an audible "Bret screwed Bret" chant making its way through the crowd. It was very loud at one point before the show went live while there was nothing happening in the ring.

-In a dark match prior to Raw, Mickie James and Kofi Kingston defeated Carlito and Rosa Mendes. This match may have been taped for Superstars, I received conflicting reports on this.

Raw Roulette To Make its Return, What Happened After Raw?

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that the August 24th episode of Monday Night Raw, hosted by Mike Adamle, will mark the return of the "Raw Roulette" concept where every match stipulation is determined by the spin of a giant roulette wheel.

After Raw went off the air last night, John Cena grabbed a mic and began to talk about the greatness of Bret "The Hitman" Hart which the crowd popped big time for. After that, he called Randy Orton out to the ring, and the two shaked hands in light of their having to team next week on Raw. Orton then attacked Cena from behind, attempted a punt kick which Cena moved away from, and was then hit with the Attitude Adjustment.

McMahon Upset With Lack of WWE Stars, Lance Storm Update

It seems as if Vince McMahon is groing increasingly more frustrated with WWE's inability to create more stars. It's being reported that he has been openly pissed off during creative meetings as of late and really wants WWE to develop some new main event material. Ironic that he then institutes the guest host concept which places all the TV attention on non-wrestling personalities.

Following Raw last night, Joey Styles posted the following on his Twitter account: "Lance Storm did a great interview with wweclassics.com. Lance hasn't aged a day in ten years. I guess the fountain of youth is in Calgary."

Exclusive Update: More on The Ric Flair/WWE Situation

I spoke with several other sources today who are close to the Ric Flair/WWE situation and I have received a few updates.

Firstly, it seems as if NBC and Bonnie Hammer were not pushing for Flair on WWE TV, it was more that Vince McMahon was considering putting Flair on Raw in a long term role. However, when the NBC and Bonnie Hammer "more star power" conversation happened, Flair was immeditately taken off the Raw radar as the network does not consider Flair to be the type of star they want heading Raw. It was at this time that Vince McMahon decided to put Flair on Smackdown, however tensions arose between the two parties and Flair has been stalled out ever since.

NBC feels that Ric Flair is "wrestling star power," whose popularity has not crossed over into the mainstream world like it did with The Rock, Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan and to some extent John Cena. Additionally, NBC felt that having Flair return to Raw would not provide the show with the constant star power that they are getting every week with guys like Shaq and Jeremy Piven. While it's no secret that most within the wrestling world hated the Raw episode featuring Piven, the network loved it because he brought mainstream credibility to WWE as he is a popular commodity amongst younger audiences who watch "Entourage," etc.

NBC's general feeling with Flair is that he is an aging star who does not connect with the younger audience as someone like Piven or Shaq does, and that although Flair might spike Raw ratings for a week or two, he would never benefit the show on a long term basis. Smartly, Vince does not want Flair for just one week, he wants something substantial for him if he is going to use him at all, otherwise, Flair is just like Sgt. Slaughter; you bring him out once, use him up, then put him back out to pasture.

So with no room for Flair on Raw, Vince decided he was going to use him on Smackdown, but then, as we reported several times, Flair pissed McMahon off by wanting to work other dates with other promotions while working with WWE, so Vince decided that he didn't need Flair and we haven't seen him on WWE TV ever since.

Full Recap of Triple H on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon"

I just finished watching Triple H's appearance on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" and overall I thought it was a really fun segment. At the top of the show, Fallon was talking about how several years ago when him and the writing staff were developing the show, he tossed out the idea of using a trap door they had on the set in the audience to raise a guest out of - complete with smoke - in "dramatic fashion." Jimmy went on to suggest that someone like Triple H would be ideal for the concept. He then went on to say that at the time it was just an idea, but who knew that several years later they would actually have Triple H on the show as a guest. He noted that there wouldn't be any smoke though. Or maybe there would.

Following Fallon's first guest, actor Ashton Kutcher, Jimmy announced Triple H and sure enough, complete with smoke effects, The Game emerged from a trap door in the audience and made his entrance while The Roots played "King of Kings" by Motorhead.

The segment began with Fallon and Kutcher both talking about how they are huge WWE fans and it really did seem like Fallon was genuine in his knowledge and enjoyment of the Triple H character. Fallon then asked Triple H who he was wrestling at SummerSlam and HHH said he was teaming with Shawn Michaels to face Legacy. Fallon wanted to know if Triple H was going to post a "Tweet" after the match to which Triple H responded by saying he was not on Twitter and had no idea what a Tweet was; or a Twat. Kutcher and HHH then went back and forth making Twat jokes and each was censored as Fallon nervously laughed.

Fallon then brought up the new Smackdown vs Raw 2010 video game and Triple H said he had some footage of the game featuring a downloadable Jimmy Fallon character. They then ran some funny footage of a Triple H vs Jimmy Fallon match which The Game dominated. The segment ended with Fallon thanking Triple H and plugging both SummerSlam and the network premiere of Wrestlemania 25 on NBC. If you recorded it, it's definitely worth checking out, because although the segment is pretty short in comparison to other segments, it's a fun few minutes.
