So, if the first one is an invalid/expired UA, it will never attempt or try the second one?

No, expired keys are flagged as such and the next valid EMM/UA will be used instead. It is just repeated valid ECM keys that are not updated.

An expired UA will process but won't update keys,but as i told you oscam will decrypt all UA available,will process every UA you have in the softcam for this channel,but will update the ecm keys once,if expired key shows up it will be discarded.
All unique EMM it finds and decrypts will be stored in oscam_emu_unique_emm.log,wherever you set the folder to store it is.

But this questions you can answer yourself by testing :
Add UA emm keys in your softcam,and restart the emu,check the LIVE LOG in webif,and see what is doing,very easy

I'm a total newbie to this and would really appreciate some help getting my dm800 autorolling. For starters, how do I set up a softcam file and where would I send it in my receiver?

Softcam on its own is not the main problem to make it autoroll.
You must follow the instruction in this thread : install oscam,make webif work,setup different values,softcam.key goes in the same oscam config folder

What dreambox image are you using?
In any case,this thread is about autoroll,more precisely.
Try to read in powervu thread with oscam,no point on repeating everything here.

I search an instruction from scratch to picture of PowerVu? Step by step. Now I read and read but no picture of my Dreambox 800HD.

Hi guys...
I have successfully got pv working in oscam,but i want to setup keys to autoroll
Check in oscam webif if the user is set to autoroll,
oscam_emu and linuxsatsupport must be ACTIVE.

In config/users make sure linuxsatsupport AU = 1
In config/dvbapi make ure AU is enabled for the user
In config/user/oscam-emu set EMMCACHE = 2,2,2,0
In config/global make sure you have EMM LOG enabled,with initial debug level of 64,so you can check emm logging.
Set also a EMM log directory.

BWTV only send the EMM stream for a very short time each day. I suspect they are not sending ATM so you will not get any update.

Be specific because everyone asks and none of it is not clear whether at the now works with oscam him BWTV in AU?

How so enter your entries in softcam.key, oscam.server, oscam.conf and each check so we tell fortunes and none of it under BWTV and you clap key manually to softcam.key
