Hi all
I have just joined up I can say it’s a good site as I was in the process of resetting up some kit that I used about 8 years ago can anyone tell me if may be I am wasting my time with two fortec star rx a
“Fortec star platinum” and a “fsci-5100 ultra” as the softcams are out of date not working things have moved on a bit can they be upgraded at all or say use a cam in the slot what card ?? many thanks all the best Robin

To be honest, best place for any Fortec Star "stuff" is the bin. I've had the unpleasant experience of a few of their boxes and wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy.
In any case, as you said, things have moved on - in my opinion the only way forward these days is to get a Linux box.
