Here is my personal Findings

1st drive
Seagate Barracuda
160gb
7200 rpm
SATA 1.0
3.5"

This was my first drive, it was picked up right away by my ipbox 9000HD, everything works fine except it wont seem to Run E2 from it, recordings and everything else were fine , but i think it gets too hot and interferes with the loading of E2 ( it installed ok, just wont run.

My 2nd Drive
Western Digital Scorpio
Model - WD2500BEVT
250gb
5400 rpm, 8mb
SATA 300
2.5"
This drive was a waste of money , the IPbox does not like it at all, i tried formating on PC e.t.c first but it still dont detect it, so this drive is definetly a NO-NO.

I found an old Seagate drive
80gb
5400 rpm
SATA 1.0
3.5"
this worked first time, even installed E2 and it booted first time, only problem though it is about 10 year old so gets very hot and interferes with the picture ( gets very pixelated after about 30 mins )

P.S. i will update model numbers as soon as i can.
I just hope the information from this thread can be very helpful.

WD7500AACS

Western Digital
3.5"
WD Caviar Green
750 GB, 16 MB Cache,
SATA 3Gb/s Jumper for 1.5Gb/s
WD7500AACS

Not working in e-sata tested with all jumper position.

Later mounted in ICE-BOX USB case and connected to USB port of IPBOX.
This works but is close to useless.
IPbox will 60% of booting times fail to see the USB disk.
and power has to be cycled at the Harddisk.
This is imporsible for sceduled records (timer) and how do you cycle power on the harddisk though Ethernet (Internet).

I'm not impressed with the Ipbox. Have also used a MAXTOR OneTouch 4 USB harddisk. Its a litle better than ICE-BOX but will still fail 40% of booting times.
The IPbox has desided to formate the harddisk without any good reason at all, lost many good films, recordings that way
:(

How hard can it be to make a dialog on screen, do you really want to format your harddrive.....!
