Reception of Astra 2C does not cover some of the South East European Countries:-
Now that Analogue has shut down here even with the new digital HD & SD services that have started the capacity of 155 transponders with the current 5 satellites 1H,1KR,1L,1M & 2C is more than adequate for the current transponder load of 97 transponder so Astra 1H is now winding down operations at 19.2 east -
http://www.flysat.com/astra19.php,
Astra 1H (28 Ku + 2 Ka Tp's) may soon be moved to a new location or just be on standby duty until other satellites arrive @ 19.2 east,
1KR=32 Ku transponders,
1L =28 Ku =2 Ka Tp's
1M = 32 Ku Tp's
2C = 28 Ku Tps
total with 4 satellites = 120 transponders approx
Astra 1N (52 Ku band Tp's will be moving to 19.2 east early in 2013) after the successful launches to 28.2 east of Astra 2F 64 Ku + 4 Ka band transponders followed by Astra 2E & Astra 2G, also in the launch line up will be Astra 5B to 31.5 east
Astra 2B will then be moved to 19.2 east & Astra 2A to 23.5 east.
Note: that Astra 2C has a smaller footprint than the other Astra satellites @ 19.2 east & reception will be very difficult to impossible in the Aegean Sea area of Greece & Turkey when the transponders switch to Astra 2C.
Tighter footprints to follow @ 19.2 east when Astra 1N moves here early in 2013.
