Hello

Can you please tell where to download fw 2.85?
Some time ago I succeeded to download it OTA, but for some reason I had to go back to 2.83, and now OTA option seems not to be available anymore.

IMPORTANT: fw 2.55 is OK to receive some encrypted channels, but STB crashes when tuning channels such as ZdfKultur and 3sat (Astra 19E). I wonder how this issue may be fixed.

Thanks
All the best

Hello

Now it's getting worse. After loading latest fw 2.83, STB keeps displaying "LOADING R13" and does not respond to commands.
Rebooting by rear switch won't help.

Any suggestion?

Thanks

What receiver do you have?
And does it show LOADING R13 in the display, and is stuck?

Thanks for your reply.

My receiver is Vantage 7100 TS HD (sat. and terrestrial tuners).
It does, LOADING R13 is stuck in the display.
Tried to reboot after many hours, but the issue still holds.

Hope it can be fixed...

Ciao

Hello gemelli47.

You try this.. :)

Serial flash:
______________________

First What do I need?

1.1. A computer with an RS232 serial COM port
or if not available, a USB to serial adapter

1.2. An RS232 serial cable.(Nullmodem cable)

1.3. The UPload Tool. http://www.sat-universe.com/showpost.php?p=375108&postcount=12

1.4. Correct COM port settings on the PC and used the upload tool.

___________________________________________________

1.5. Firmware that you know work ok on the box.
___________________________________________________

Second Flash process.

2.2. Power off the box with switch at the back..

2.3. Insert the null modem serial cable from PC to the box.

2.4. Open Channel Editor v.3.11.

2.4.1. In the Channel Editor, in Options or RS232 select COM port and baud rate set as 115200

2.5. In "UP" you locate and choose Vantage firm(S/W File *.dlp)you have stored on PC earlier, then Open.

2.6. Now as soon as possible, the box with power switch ON.

2.7. The transfer should start.

If "loading" is the serial connection is ok.
It is the normal loading at boot of the box.

2.8. If it works, the display shows "MainSW%% DL" on the PC and you can see the Migrate progress bar to the right.

Just wait and do nothing to box and program until the box reboots.
_________________________________________________________________

And be careful with your serial ports! They are very delicate, short circuit, etc.
When plugging in the null-modem serial cable to vantage box,the power switch must be off!!!

Hi Foxkiller

I have checked the PC's COM ports (hardware and drivers update), but don't know how to correct them.
Anyway, none of the 4 ports can be opened.
The receiver is connected to PC through a female/female null-modem plus male serial-USB adapter, which is duly detected as COM9 (anything to do with COM1..COM4 Pc's ports?).

Grateful for further instructions.

Hi again.:):)

You should be able to change com this way..

Go to Device Manager on PC..
Open the Communications Port who is detected as com 9
Open Port Settings
Choose Advanced
Change COM-portnumber to 1
Save with OK

Hi
Correction made, but upgrade process does not go on: after a while a notice of communication timeout is displayed, although STB power-on was nearly immediate.
Thanks Ciao

1st put away
1. Antenna
2.any USBs
then starts the receiver

when booting fails ,let the receiver on for 1 hour!

when times up , receiver shuts down ,wait 10 seconds then starts without antenna and usb.

when now booting up ,switch to other firmware!

@gemelli47
Forgot one thing, you must also edit the port settings for the actual com 1 in the Device Manager where the LPT and COM stuff is

COM port properties:

Bits per second: 115200
Data bits: 8
Parity: None
Stop bits: 1
Flow control: Hardware

Under Advanced:
FIFO buffer: set with ticks
Receive buffer: HIGH
Sending buffer: HIGH

No way. On the other hand, I already tried leaving STB off for many more hours.

Thanks

Hi.
Sorry to here you don't get it work..
I see you are using USB-serial adapter for the nullmodem cable.
That could be the problem..
So if you have/can loan an old PC(XP os) with real serial comport, i would have tried that as it is working better for such jobs.
