Understanding dvbapi in oscam.conf

Hi mates.

I have a basic question regarding when to use dvbapi.

1) Is dvbappi required only when you use oscam with a card reader?
2) In the case where oscam is used with nlines from other remote servers, is dvbapi required?

dvbapi is required in receiver from whom someone is watching encripted channels.
Example:
Lets say you have Sky De 09c4 card. Sky De uses 09c4 and 098c cards.
With dvbapi you determine witch card has priority.
P: 098C:000000 #Priority
I: 09C4:000000 #Ignored
The same rule applies to remote servers.
On the remote servers some cards are better, and those cards you prioritize.
When a channel has multiple coding systems you use dvbapi to set priority on coding that is faster and card count is bigger.

Hi "freon".

Thank you for replying to my thread. So it appears that dvbapi is a way of fine tuning oscam server, such that ecm requests get optimized based on the dvbapi config. If you don't really care which card gets priority, could dvbapi be disabled? So dvbapi isn't a special type of oscam user?
