21.00pm Apocalypse Now (18) 1979 Action / Adventure / Drama / War

Francis Ford Coppola's superb and highly acclaimed Vietnam War epic about a world-weary US Army captain (Martin Sheen) assigned to penetrate deepest Cambodia and assassinate an insane renegade colonel (Marlon Brando, in a powerful role). Robert Duvall's performance as surf-crazy Kilgore is stunning, and even after repeated viewings, this remains one of the best war movies in history. Frederic Forrest, Sam Bottoms, Dennis Hopper and a young Laurence Fishburne also star, with a cameo by Harrison Ford. Harrowing, but unmissable and compelling stuff (888)

23.50pm Repo Man (18) 1984 Comedy / Sci-Fi / Action

Al Pacino returns as Michael Corleone, who sets out to clinch a make-or-break deal with an ageing gangster — but finds his plans torn apart by a traitor within the family. The plot is intercut with flashback sequences chronicling the early life of Michael's father Don Vito, played by Oscar-winner Robert De Niro, as he makes the shift from immigrant grocery store clerk to Mafia bigwig. Also starring Robert Duvall, Diane Keaton, Talia Shire, John Cazale and Lee Strasberg

00.40am The Crazies (18) 1973 Action / Horror / Thriller / Drama / Sci-Fi

The US Army moves in to investigate a mysteriously infected water supply, only to find it has had a sinister effect on the people who've drunk it, turning them into murderous marauders. Night of the Living Dead director George A Romero's blood-splattered sci-fi horror doesn't quite match the standard of the classic zombie chiller, but there's plenty to keep genre aficionados hooked. Lane Carroll, Will MacMillan and Harold Wayne Jones star
