Her Majesty The Queen to attend Champions Day at Ascot
Her Majesty will present the trophy to the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes winner .

The Queen will attend the inaugural British Champions Day at Ascot on 15 October, race officials have announced.

Her Majesty will present the trophy to the winner of the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes - the race named in her honour.

Andrew Balding-trained Side Glance, who finished fourth in the Woodbine Mile, will make his next start in the one-mile race, in which Sussex Stakes winner Frankel will start as favourite.

Sir Henry Cecil's two horses, Midday and Twice Over, will also feature.

Race organisers hope to confirm a number of other horses over the coming weeks.

"Hopefully after the Arc [de Triomphe on 2 October] the likes of So You Think and Nathaniel might be confirmed," said Ascot spokesman Nick Smith.

"There is also the likes of Dubai Prince and Green Destiny, who might not have been considered a few months ago but are now very much on track."
