Don't know if this is well known but its good to know as some dish manufacturers state that their dish is a certain size but it is actually smaller. If the dimensions are stated it will be height x width with the maker using the height for size when it will be the width (horizontal measurement) of the dish which will determine the signal reception area. If you take for example a popular 1.1metre dish when you find stated measurements being as 105cm x 100cm you can see this dish can only perform as a 1 metre dish. Its good to know when buying a dish as the smallest amount of dish surface area makes a difference on signal quality and that your getting the real dish size you wanted.
