m8 best thing to do would be to flash it with the last PKT image.

Not the usb image but the flash image, its dead easy and has been going strong on mine for ages now.
oscam and crossepg working 100%.

Have you flash the box before with a dgstation image ?

Here is the link, download the flash version.

type these into telnet if you want it on usb or hdd

fdisk /dev/sda -then enter

d & enter -keep doing untill no partitions left

n & enter -this will create a new partition on stick

p & enter -to create a primary partition

1 & enter & enter again

w to write changes & save & exit- This should have created a linux partition on your USB stick

mkfs.ext2 /dev/sda1 & enter

mount -t ext2 /dev/sda1 /mnt/usb

ftp your image to mnt/usb

type cd /mnt/usb - enter

tar xvzf PKT.tar.gz (replace PKT.tar.gz with the name of the image you download)

when its done enigma2 will be on the hdd

now you need to setup multiboot. best way is put pkt.gold in flash and use the multiboot config in the plugins. set config 1 to boot from usb - sda1 - enigma2

then restart the box holding No 1 on the remote.

it should then boot.

fdisk

Ok thanks,
I am halfway through doing the factory reset although it has not gone back to original factory settings STRANGE it is still showing the indb6 image.
I am now scanning services.
When I did previously update to indb6v008 i updated by usb upgrade image from memory stick same as I have done before with other images nlb and dsg then removed usb stick, i never had a problem with hdd.
The image must be on hdd as I removed usb stick after installing.
MAYBE THIS IS WHERE IVE GONE WRONG.
Will advise in a short time whether hdd is now visible and working.
If I end up doing as you say , shall I format the stick fat32 before putting in receiver then do I also have to leave the stick in ?
Thanks jud

This is wat I get after
Fdisk /dev/sda then enter

The number of cylinders for this disk is set to 19457
There is nothing wrong with that, but this is larger than 1024,and could in certain setups cause problems with :
1 software that runs at boot time eg old versions of lilo
2 booting and partitioning software from other os’s
Eg dos fdisk os/2 fdisk

just press d to delete any partitions
it might say you have none if you have already deleted them

then just press n to create a new partition.
