Yes the Hardware Blind Scan on the SX88 range is far superior to software blind scan,

The SX88 Blind Scan can find & display much lower symbol rates that other receivers for example:-

15 west 12583 H 1300 3/4DVB-S2/8PSK MSNBC feed,
21.6 east 11237 H 2583 5/6 DVB-S2/8PSK MPEG-4 Flowers International HD.
7 east 11192 V 3674 DVB-S2/8PSK MPEG-4 Simaye Azadi Iran National TV HD
3 west 11462 V 3062 1/2 ABS test card.

I have been testing this receiver for the last few days:-
Octagon SX88+ Optima CA HD H.265 HEVC Full HD :thum:

The new remote control unit is much better than the previous for the 1st 2 models The Optima RCU also works on the SX88+ :)

Excellent performance some features did not work at 1st so I contacted Octagon:-
Back up & recovery did not work when trying to save settings to a USB stick,

Works OK now when I input these codes,

Back up recovery = 4761
WEB TV = 2020
Free TV = 1010
system CAM settings on/off = 6363
Biss/PowerVu = 0000 to access,

The Blind scan is very fast & accurate on most satellites:-
45E & 46E/42E/39E/36E/33.1E/28.2E/21.6E/19.2E/16E/13E/9E &10E/7E/4.8E/3.1E/1W/5W/7.3W/8W/15W = 5 to 10 min,
30 west is a bit slower due to the DTT & Data transponders here.

To make sure you get all the latest TV channel data when you scan select "Renew channels data" then when a channel changes from a number or is re-named you will get the new name,

When scanning on satellites with Multi Stream select Multi-Stream in the search mode (33.1E//21.6E//4.8E//5W ect

No need as this has already been written in the software for the SX88 & SX88+:thum:
This is something that has been changed with the new SX88+ Optima model also access to other functions now require a key on the new SX88+ Optima when the SX88 & SX88+ did not need this
Still a very good receiver in my opinion :D

I have read there is an official and an unofficial software. I still like that? I would like to buy the Octagon SX88+SE. The latest firmware is 1.05.19. In this Version is integrated THCAM and OSCam? Or are there still two firmware versions?
Can Power Vu AU SIS, Discovery etc. work with the receiver?
Will Albertis T2MI in Biss for Hispasat 30 West with the receiver?

Thank you for your help

Will Albertis T2MI in Biss for Hispasat 30 West with the receiver? I believe it does but I haven't tried yet

I updated online during set up to the latest firmware 1.05.19 and use Oscam(default) and my own softcam.

I got the box today and unfortunately it only runs very well on these frequencies 11653, 12631 and 12671.
Unfortunately not on these frequencies 11678, 12483,
12548, 11222 ,11302, 11342 and 11382
Can someone tell me where I can find the right keys and how often do they change the keys?
thank you and greetings

You need to edit the keys in the CAS menu with up to date ones from
https://www.sat-universe.com/showthread.php?t=306089
then scan the transponders.

Hi,

In old firmware files there were a biss.key file, I do not know if in the last ones are too. In any case, if you can obtain this biss.key file I give two options by saving this file in an usb in the receiver:

1. With the usb connected to the receiver do a telnet to the receiver:

telnet ip

after login, execute command

mount
to see the path of the mounted usb in my case is /tmp/UD0

cd /tmp/UD0

and the execute vi biss.key

then you can edit the file (see vi commands in google)

save the file and then import this file with the emu.

2. The second option is by editing the file in your pc with a notepad or any kind of program.

To do this, ftp to the receiver:

ftp ip

cd /tmp/UD0

get biss.key

edit the file in your computer and save, then ftp again

ftp ip

cd /tmp/UD0
put biss.key
then import the file with the emu.

in both options I have assumed that the usb is mounted in /tmp/UD0

I hope that it can help
