I want to access my video files on my PC from my dreambox 7020 HD v2. I can ftp to the box and all but, I cannot get the box to see the files on my pc. I have tried so many different options based on what I could find on www. However, none of the suggestions solved my problem

This is what I have done so far:
VLC:
• Installed VLC 2.1.5 Rincewind on my PC running OS Windows 8.1 pro.
• In my VLC Preferences\Interface\Main Interfaces checked the box next to web.
• Under the Main Interfaces\Lua and Lua HTPP set a password.
• Ensured that Network settings HTTP server port is set to 8080 in vlc
• From view\add interface set to Web
• Verified that I could log on using http://127.0.0.1:8080/
On my dreambox I have:
• Downloaded the VLC plugin V2.5
• Added a server “server 1” with the following setup:
Shared my entire C:\ folder on my network
disabled my antivirus program
Kept VLC running in the background
After this, I Pressed “OK” on the VLC server 1 on my dreambox. However, after a while it cames up with the following error: Error loading playlist into server Server 1: <urlopen error [Errno 145] connection timed our>
What am I doing wrong; please help really need this to work - thanks! :hammer:

o DVD Device (Leave empty for default):
o Transcode MPEG/DVD Video: Yes
o Video Codec: MPEG2
o Video Bitrate: 2000
o Video Norm: Default
o Overscan Correction [in % of Video width]: 000
o Subtitle overlay: No
o Transcode MPEG/DVD Video: Yes
o Audio Codec: MPEG Leyer 2 (mp2a)
o Audio Samplerate: 44100
o Audio Channels: 2
PC: o Enter VLC-Server as FQDN or IP-Address: IP-Address
