Question new to Cardservers...seeking input / advice

Greetings!

Hope this is the correct place to post my question -- if not, mods please point me in the right direction. If my question is altogether inappropriate of course it will be deleted but hoping it's not. Here goes.

Background:

New to linux-based stb's but not to linux itself. New to cardservers & emulators. Looks like there are plenty of cardservers & emulators for both linux stb's and dvb apps that run on PC.

Also, looks like European feeds / channels / providers are well "served" here (for lack of a better term) but feeds / channels / providers that beam down on other parts are not mentioned (maybe not allowed?)

Question:

Can any of the cardserver apps listed in this forum work on *** Videoguard for a certain N.American provider? Just want to use a high-end linux stb with a legit sub. Will happily read how-to's and readme files all day but a simple yes / no answer would be great and if the answer is "yes" then perhaps a recommendation for which cardserver app to try.

Thanks for any help & apologies if this is not permitted discussion.
