More HD for Cyfra+

The Polish DTH platform Cyfra+ will add five more channels, four of which will be in HD, to its offer on May 4.

The news was given to Wirtualne Media by Betrand Le Guern, the president of Canal+ Cyfrowy.

Although he did not name the channels, they are believed to include Fox Life HD and Nat Geo Wild HD.

Cyfra+ is the second largest DTH platform in Poland after Cyfrowy Polsat and began this year with around 1.54 million subscribers. Its offer currently includes nine HD channels.

Polish satellite pay-TV Cyfra + (Hot Bird, CA Mediaguard) expand early next month offer programs for standard and high definition (SD and HD). Cyfra + will now offer BBC HD, Cinemax HD, Fox Life HD and Nat Geo Wild in SD and HD.

Classification Fox Life HD to offer Cyfra + was only a matter of time. SD mutation Fox Life first appeared in the packet Cyfrowa Polsat, after several weeks, also in Cyfra +. Fox Life HD delivers the same content as Fox Life in standard definition.

National Geographic Channel bid in Cyfra + will enhance Nat Ge SD Wild and Nat Geo HD Wild.

New on the Polish market will be BBC HD. It will be the feed, which is now broadcast to the countries of Scandinavia. Now getting into other parts of Europe. BBC HD input on the Polish market has been long planned and launch postponed several times.

Another new HD on the Polish market will begin broadcasting station Cinemax HD. Compared to HBO HD Cinemax HD will broadcast the same content as in standard definition. It will be a separate channel. Start has not yet been officially confirmed.
