Al-Lubnania satellite channel ready for official launch
KUWAIT: Al-Lubnania, a private Lebanese satellite channel announced it will officially start telecasting its programs during the holy month of Ramadan.
The programs will be telecast on Arabsat: 11075 Vertical, Nilesat: 10872 Vertical and on Eurobird: 2 @ 250.5 East. The telecasts have been under tests since December 25 2007.
Al-Lubnania's slogan is '24 Hours of Healthy Entertainment,' The programs focus on beauty, fashion, health, money and jewelry. "This channel will not feature any politically motivated programs.
It only features useful information and wholesome entertainment for the entire family. We concentrate on health issues, and other related features," said Dr Nicolas Kimaz, CEO of Al-Lubnania at a press conference held yesterday in Shuwaikh.
Al-Lubnania is predominantly a 'health' channel said Kimaz, who added, "Al-Lubnania will help you burn calories, lose weight, and regain your health through 24 hours of healthy entertainment. We plan to achieve this through telecasting programs that are related to body, soul, and the atmosphere. We aim at projecting a new lifestyle through advice and information provided on educational, social, medical, and entertainment programs. All these programs focus on prevention and cures.
People have since long evinced a keen interest in getting information on alternative health cures. "Through our programs, which will be telecast during Ramadan, people will benefit from gaining important information on health, food, and other relevant issues. They can ask questions about health issues or complications. They will also be advised on maintaining an appropriate diet as well as their daily meal intakes," he explained.
Women will also have the opportunity of watching several interesting programs. "Through reality TV programs that we plan to telecast on Al-Lubnania, viewers will be able to watch plastic/cosmetic surgeries like liposuction, gastric bypass, facelifts, wrinkles reduction, bust enlargements, and many others. They will also receive advice on how to stay beautiful and maintain health by renowned specialists," noted Kimaz.
Kimaz studied in the US and spent many years practicing his career there. His aim is to share his experience and information that he gained during those years to the Arab world. "The Arab viewers are thirsty for such information and I would like to let them benefit as much as possible. In my opinion the Arab world doesn't need change, it only needs improvement. We have the best culture in the world," he pointed out.
Al-Lubnania will broadcast several programs covering different fields. Programs like Diet; min by min, Chef Doctor, Ask the Doctor, Cafe O Lait, Nada Alsabah, Magazine Live, Fashion Passion, Your Doctors Clinic, Light Slim, Money Talk, Herbs Pharmacy, Sex Culture and Science, Best Buys are among the various other programs planned for kids and teenagers. "We will also screen additional documentaries and movies that are being prepared for future broadcasting. We are collecting reportages from various Arab co
untries, as we are targeting the entire Arab world," he concluded.
