Nova and piracy

In upgrading the microcode cards progresses Nova
ImageEdo several days the Nova has started from-the-air upgrade subscription card version 5 and zeta level 12 ($ 0C). This upgrade of microcode (ie software) card brings them to the same level of safety as the expected type cards kappa.

Obvious is that Nova has started and cyber warfare against piracy. It started by sending consecutive commands marrying the cards to hit the detour of the original marrying practiced some. The next step in changing the microcode of cards has definitely target the pirate cards in circulation brazenly long and of course this is not the last weapon. Following this change and wait for other e.g. stopping the server and other side roads that bypass the official support. Interesting developments are expected soon.

The microcode is referred to as «Patch Level». This upgrade cards only 5 and a zeta and smaller versions (2 & 4) do not support this function. Besides have or almost have outgrown their electronic shelf life for this reason will be removed (replaced) in a relatively short time with the new cards kappa. Cards can be ordered to work with any patch level. So a card can ...

... have loaded the level $ 0C and operated with the $ 08 that is older. With special command can change level and start running the last level (or some intermediate). If the card is not loaded a selected level and arranged to operate on it, will simply cease to decode.

The software upgrade cards for all the cards 5 and zeta, even those who do not have an active subscription. Nevertheless, the last patch level has not yet been fully activated. Around October 20 pilot was asked by a number of cards (approximately 7,000 to 10,000) change operation level and begin to operate on $ 0C. Since then about every two days a number of 10000 cards get ordered to go to the new patch level. This change is not seamless and paratirirountai problems in a number of subscribers, but not officially known how many.

The problems relate mainly cards essentially closed for the reason that have not upgraded to the latest patch level. Read why.

By applying the measure in other countries but with careful observation of the communication card and the receiver, some things are apparent.

After the upgrade has not been observed incompatibility receiver or other device (eg, Card splitter) if it is early for 100% reliable conclusions. This will be answered if all the cards are turned in the latest patch and turned fully counter-offer.

The upgrade takes some time. Approximately 10 to 15 minutes for each missing patch level of the card. It does not go to the card directly to the latter, passed what is missing in a row. So if missing 3 patch time multiplied by 3. The patch repeated almost every 7 hours. If for some reason the card is not ʽ sit firmly on a channel (package) for long enough it will not get it (or) patch. The process is interrupted every time you change the channel viewing.

The upgrade does not go to several receivers market without genuine irdeto. Ie receivers UCAS or another system that makes imitation irdeto may not know how to process orders and to upgrade ignore (ie not to pass the card). 100% conclusion on what we can not get you out of here because due to the time required for the upgrade is likely to happen and simply happy to wait for subsequent transmission to get the upgrade (ie after 7 hours) eg do zap to another channel, the receiver enters standby etc. Surely course that many famous and non-receivers have trouble in this matter. Also not sure that because the receiver has official irdeto will pass and properly upgrade the microcode on the card! Certainly the upgrade passes right in their proprietary receivers Panasat. Also epivaivaiothike that the upgrade goes normally and receivers PremiumX, PremiumQ, Tecview, Proview. (Current project to see what happens to the M-Vision).

If the card is not getting updated, the customer service center can send special command "shoot up" a specific card to make the upgrade at that time. The time of grace (grace period) given the card to get the new upgrade is estimated to be a few hours (4 hours). After this card can become inactive if it has commands to pass to the next patch level and it can not be loaded. So if the receiver does not pass such orders on the card, you need the client to try to find an example panasat to do the upgrade.

It is worth mentioning that any panasat do this job. That is, if the neighbor has a DSD1110 with married card, you can put it (not married) card in this receiver, just to get the upgrade. Of course in this case during the upgrade you will not see the image (perhaps only the message E107-4) Naturally, after that your card will be played normally in your receiver (ie not married to the receiver's neighbor!).

During the upgrade the card stops to decode. Excluding the above case, but it is possible if no other irdeto clipboard to perform the upgrade.

Necessary after upgrading the microcode of the card is to go out and re-enter the card receiver - especially if the upgrade was an official receiver. In other receivers, a standby time in the same result, and in a standby mode is interrupted to the card. (Tbd)

Because piracy is certain that Nova will choose quickly transition to patch level 12 ($ 0C), so increase your chances of getting your card the latest software leaving a channel package overnight. Recommended (from observation rather than from some other reason) to let in channel 11823 eg the mega avoiding novacinema1.

I left at the end of something that actually should be in the beginning. And this is the way to see what patch level is your card. The reason is simple (!). There is no easy way to know this unless you have the official receiver Panasat DSD1110 with latest upgrade (L9) or receivers M-Vision series S with software 6.11.02 and above. Older models and software does not provide this information. Also not seen this feature in other receivers or CI module. If anyone has another experience let us mention the model of the device that provides this information to write here.

But there are ways, from the customer service center to our ʽ show the patch level that is loaded in our card to almost any receiver. And this is taking advantage of the possibilities offered by most receivers to reflect the country addressed the card. Specifically talking about the CoCo (country code) which in our case is the "GRC". By special order from the center changes the "GRC" the number of patch level that is loaded on the card. And reverts back to "GRC" with another commandment. I do not know if that would apply in the case of Nova, but the possibility exists.
