800HD PVR Wont start at all after flashing failure

Hi.

I recently bought a 800HD PVR.
I could connect to it via FTP.
But I wanted to upgrade it.

So I searched for a few hours and found a recommended bootloader
I flashed it via HTTP with no problems.
But when I started it up later, I had the NO CA error.
Well, no problems there. But i learned that I had bought a clone...

I then searched some more and found that this setup would work;
sim201_ssl84a
OpenPli-3.0-hdglass16-8.55-DM800-SIM2-SSL84D-26.10.2014-Houara

So I connected the box with both the rs232 and LAN cable.
No problems there eather.
Box connected. Said it was a DM800 down the corner in Dreamup.

I then flashed the bootloader.
And I also flashed the PLI image through Dreamup.

But after 99% of installation I got a error message.
"Error - box will be useless now"

Didnt thought much more of that. But I discoennected the box.
And now it is impossible to connect to it.
I have tried every single program to connect to it, but nothing.

When i put in the power cable the ethernet connector lights up.
But it is impossible to start it.

I have disconnected the tuner.
I have removed the SIM.


How do I fix this box?

Hi.

Thanks for quick answer.

I do have the Null modem cable.
I connect it to the box first.
I then press connect in dreamup.
I put the power cable in... and nothing happens.

The first time I did that it installed the flashloader.

So I get no connection to the box what so ever.

I think I have tried it all now.
Nothing seems to work.

The box doesn't start.
So not any program can connect to it..

How the hell do i solve this?

I faced these problems too much, lucky for you :)
I had dm800HD pvr sim2

First insert the tuner and sim which you have removed. bring dm800 to its original condition. Don't turn it ON.
Set the null modem cable with dm800 and connect it to pc/laptop.

Note: Personally Houara compiled images don't work for me. So don't install that.


Now follow these steps:

Download these 1st:

Now Lets Begin:

1. Connect the network cable to dm800 and make sure you have a dhcp server to give dm800 AutoIP address.
2. Connect the null modem cable and from pc launch "DreamUP_patched_by_forhike_and_natas" and click connect.
3. Now turn ON dm800.
4. From "ssl files" you've downloaded there are 2 bootloaders, Install "sim201-ssl82" with DreamUP_patched.
5. after installing "sim201-ssl82", turn OFF dm800

6. Make sure dm800 gets auto IP address
7. Turn ON dm800 and keep pressed the power button on dm800 until you get a IP address.
8. Read the ip address on dm800 oled screen. Type ip address in browser [chrome, firefox] and click firmware upgrade and install "sim201_ssl84D.nfi"
9. Reboot dm800 and keep pressed the power button on dm800 until you get a IP address.
10. Type ip address in browser [chrome, firefox], and install "TSimage-3.0-OE-2.0-dm800hd-2014-09-28-ramiMAHER" that you have downloaded.
11. Reboot and enjoy.

@coolest

Just question, when I try to connect to dreamup, it connects fine, but then comeup an Error message, No second stage bootloader found. Contact DreamMultiMedia
Any idea??

Your bootloader has been corrupted.
First install second stage bootloader ssl82, the one I gave you in the links.
After bootloader is Ok then you can install firmware.
