August 29, 2012 10.53 Europe/London By Robert Briel
German private broadcaster Your Family Entertainment (YFE) is launching its new free-to-air channel RiC on the Astra position of 19.2 degrees East on September 10 at 3pm CET.
The new channel is aiming for a young audience between 3 and 13 years old with series such as Swiss Family Robinson and Hugo the Hippo. It will be available unencrypted on satellite and as a live stream on the internet.
“With YFE we established a successful channel for the pay-TV market. With RiC we want to increase our portfolio in the free-to-air market,” said Dr. Stefan Piech, CEO YFE.
Your Family Entertainment has its origins in Ravensburger AG. The company developed a library of around 3,500 half hours of children’s and youth programmes since 1981.
Your Family Entertainment operates the pay-TV channel ‘yourfamily’ for children and families in German-speaking Europe (available on KabelKiosk, unitymedia, Arcor digitalTV, Kabel BW, Vodafone digital TV, UPC Austria, Swisscom TV, Deutsche Telekom and Zattoo).
