Kim Taylor suffers from a bizarre allergy which has left her living in the stone age -- because she is severely allergic to metal.

The 48-year-old housewife is so allergic to nickel that even the slightest contact can leave her skin covered in a red itchy rash and painful blisters.

And because nickel is used as an alloy in numerous metallic items, it means there is little Kim can touch without suffering a reaction.

She has now even resorted to covering things like her glasses, zips and buttons in nail varnish so her skin doesn't come into contact with the metal.

The condition means Kim cannot touch hundreds of everyday items like keys, coins, zips and saucepans… No, don't try claiming you've got it just to get our of the washing up.
Kim said of her condition: ”The slightest trace of nickel triggers my allergy, anything from knives and forks, watch straps, bra clasps or the clasp on my purse.

"I develop a red, itchy rash on my fingers and hands, like a heat rash, which becomes very painful and blistered."
